Recently in the circle I belong to, we have had a guy who claims to be a 3 year practitioner of this. He says he went to a dojo in NY.
When in the nage position from a front lapel grab,he didnt break my balance first, turned into me,(exposing his kidneys and back of his neck),then attempted a half-assed take down when in an armbar,(if I went down, his arm would be broke).
Is completely unfamiliar with any wrist-locks othe than nikkyo.
Yet will claim nikkyo is the only wrist lock.
Completely ignores what the other hand is doing.
And tries to resist joint-locks in a manner that would get himself hurt instead of loosening his way out of them.
Anyone else here practice Taijutsu? Anyone around NY?
I hand this morons ass to him every single time, yet he acts as though he is some sort of expert.
“The Bujinkan (武神館) is an international martial arts organization based in Japan and headed by Masaaki Hatsumi. It is best known for its claimed historical association with ninjutsu. The system taught by this group, called Bujinkan Budō Taijutsu, consists of nine separate martial arts traditions.”
This historical connection with ninjutsu doesn’t get them many points around here
One of the disciplines they teach is Togakure-ryū Ninpō Taijutsu, which could be the Taijutsu you are referring to… Taijutsu in itself is a pretty generic term.
Searching the forum will no doubt shed some additional light in the subject… two threads to get you started:
