yep, i’m picking the reem to win. i don’t see anyone beating him for a while.
fedor is still one of my favourite fighters though, and i hope this tournament just adds another chapter to the legend about an indestructible russian robot.

The brackets are lopsided.
It’s a great idea but with a pool that small one injury could screw the whole thing.
they certainly are. i’m not sure why they did that.
The boxer inside me wants Arlovski to win this. Unfortunately, this is teh real world and not tekken. So I have to go for the reem here. Besides, I think his performance in K-1 already showed how much of a champ he is.
Because that way they can market the winner of the weaker bracket as a grand prix finalist, making their heavyweight division seem stronger? Or maybe like me they want to see Overeem v Fedor as soon as possible.
They should have seeded the top 4. Overeem and Werdum on one side Fedor and Barnett on the other.
Yeah absolutely, why matchup the champ vs number 1 contender in the quarters?
Should still be entertaining though.

Because it is the only way to guarantee that Reem/Werdum happens. Also don’t forget that the winner of that match is champ, and his fight in the following round is another 5 rounder for the title… and so on to the finals (for the title). Werdum earned his shot at the title, so he gets it first.
Too bad it’s not like Japan where all these fights happen over 1 or 2 nights. It’s going to be painful for me to be patient and wait to see how the whole thing turns out.
Why? So the guy who lucks out and KOs an easy opponent with the first punch has an extremely unfair advantage over someone who drew a tough first challenge and only made it to the second round beaten half to death?
No thanks. We’re trying to find out who is the best fighter and I prefer the fighters to be fresh and rested before the match for this. Makes for more exciting fights too when they’re not just trying to play it safe and not get too beat up for the next round.
I am beyond happy, that this is going down. Cue one coronary for Dana. Strikeforce just became the most exciting promotion, in a way.
I say Fedor’s my fav. to win because he is who is is, and will likely do to the others what he does.
If not, 'reem or Barnett. However it goes down, this is GREAT for the sport, and I don’t think I’ve been this excited over a sporting event since The San fran 49ers kicked superbowl 'hell out of Denver waaaaaaaaaaay back in the day.
Whoa! that just made me drool on my keyboard a little.
I sure hope the last emperor will walk out of this war with the crown on his head - this would be the most awesome final of his already awesome career.

That’s my suggestion especially since you missed my last trip to boston.
I just got a massive boner reading the fight card (no homo) and I am going to wear my fedor shirt on that day too.
That would be awesome. Sports city, after all
