If someone where shot with a 500 magnum at pointblank range, what kind of wound would it make? Would it be as bad as point blank 12 guage?
Guys got any stories, facts, or examples?
Would a person’s head still be in one piece if they took a point blank 500 mag round to the head? Just curious.
The phrase “exit wound like a deep dish pie” comes to mind.
Seriously though, use the Mag. You’ll have too much trouble pulling the trigger on the 12 guage with your toe.

Depends on the load, bullet type, etc.
I’d still give the 12 gauge the edge. Look at it this way, hitting someone with the blast of a 12 gauge 00 buckshot, is going to be about the same thing as hitting them with a 9 round burst of 9 mm bullets. I some two legged critter is still alive after taking such a blast to the face, then he wasn’t meant to be killed. For that matter, I doubt there would be much of a head left.

Probably overpenetrate. You’d have a 0.500" hole going in, and you might not have enough room to get decent hollowpoint expansion. This round, remember, gives you that extra penetration, just like the other big boomers (.44 magnum, .480 Ruger, etc).
It will still kill you dead, though…
I heard about a woman who lost half her face to a point blank 44 magnum blast.
She still lived though.
I have heard stories where the 44 mag would bursts peoples heads open.
I would think that a 500 would do more damage than that.

Hahahahaha. Oh wow what a way to draw us in.
I’d say the 12 would be significantly more dangerous. Launches a hell of a lot more lead at once with plenty of speed. Use a slug if you want a hell of an exit wound.
Handgun vs. shotgun? Give me a fucking break.

By just curious you mean just retarded right?
What don’t you people get about the fact that War Wheel ended this thread in the second post?
i heard of this chick who got half her face blown off buy a 12 gauge. then i saw her speak in public.
I think you guys should give the OP a break. I’ve never seen the ‘who would win in a fight’ formula applied to this forum before. There aren’t a lot of people innovating in the field of shitty posting.
Indeed, but bullets usually win every fight if they are trained correctly.
Good point…
So I guess the only question now is whether Optimus Prime would let The Hulk shoot him in the head with a Death Star, and if so, who would get the royalties, Hasbro, Marvel or Lucasfilm?

Are you serious? Lucasfilm FTW!!! :occasion1

Marvel would make the original, Lucas films will piss off the purists with a crappy cg-enhanced remake, and Hasbro will do the merchandising.
