I just found out that a great JKD teacher and original student of Bruce Lee died on Jan 15. I was surprised I didn’t see anything posted on Bullshido.

I posted this news as it broke on FB and my personal site, but to echo what I said there…
However much I disagreed with him and his guys politically (and technically actually) he was a direct student of Bruce’s and as such another link to JKD’s origins passes on.

RIP Jerry Poteet, even tho i only heard of him last year but i always find different students of Bruce tends to have slightly different philosophy of how JKD should be practiced. To me, all in all Martial Arts are always evolving.
His work on Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story inspired me to take up the martial arts. RIP
