The reason I ask is that once you’re out of your teens/early 20s, people usually have an idea when a relationship is through…and after that point, you’re left with co-dependency/etc issues that keep it going.
As a teen/young adult, though…people are fucked up. One minute you’re the only person in the world for them…the next minute they can’t stand to hear your voice.

This ain’t so bad. A friend of mine had his fiancee of five years break up with him via text message. Had her mom come by to pick up her stuff.
Oh, and he found out she was cheating on him too, you know how? The STD test, she gave him genital warts.
So, look on the bright side man, twas only five months, and you got no permanent physical damage from it, just some emotional scars that will get better with time.
