Yaw Yan is a really great martial art and is very effective. I was able to train for a day with Sir Rey of yaw Yan Buhawi in Marikina, in Metro Manila Philippines. It was a very small gym and poor but the teacher was really amazing. I love Filipinos they are so nice and down to earth. He told me Yaw Yan of course is just a Filipinoized mixed martial art with influences from Karate, Muay Thai and even Jujitsu sometimes. The gym I trained at tended to believe that spin kicks were effective but ONLY 180 spins and never full 360s. They emphsized spinning back fists too. Their fighters are really good and many of them beat muay thai guys and win MMA fights in the Philippines.
If anyone gets a chance to go to the Philippines go hit up Sir Rey at Yaw Yan Buhawi in Marikina! Its a real workout with tons of full contact even during drills. If you dont block its your own fault. lol
That has to be a fucking Bullshido record… A SEVEN YEAR NECRO
You just replied to a thread long forgotten, where the last poster before you hasn’t visited the site in well over a year and the original poster since Sept 2004
Congratulations, you’re a fuckwit.
Now get the fuck out of my forum.

Well I figured if I posted a new thread about Yaw Yan someone would get really pissed and say “use the search function damnit!!!” so I just posted it there. I figured people liked to talk about obscure martial arts or talk about their experience with them. Sorry. Sheesh!
You thought wrong.

I guess I did.

I concur.

Sheesh![/QUOTE]What you do is start a new thread in YMAS or in the traditional forums if you’re expecting a serious discussion, you reference the thread in question, this illustrates that you’re acknowledging the content, even linking the old thread within yours so that those who can be arsed, can look the older thread over however, you’d only do this if you really had something worth reading or contributing too the original topic. Anecdotal ditties aren’t worth the time unless there’s something special, like you anally invaded the teacher’s wife… or better still the teacher himself. Otherwise don’t bother. Especially with seven year old threads.
Rock Ape is correctest.
Now I want blue crabs.
So you’re saying Rock Ape is really this man?
Very strange.
