Not true. What if I said “Fuck You”, or if I said “I like your hat but Fuck you!”?
Either way, if you trained with someone who was telling you that they could get you fights in Tijuana after a month, and that they are doing a reality show and are going to get you one it (never happens), and that the IFL is talking about giving him his own fight team (never would happen, look at the coaches), etc, you honestly telling me you wouldnt find it shady?
Repeating hearsay of the gossip on people clashing over personalities is irrelevant. Please stick to what, if any, evidence you have of your allegations.
The thing is there are tons of shady people in the martial arts. The trick is separating the fraudulent from the merely shady. So far this guy MAY be shady but he doesn’t seem fraudulent.
Hearsay of gossip? It is Saul Soliz himself saying it clear as day, on the forum. It isn’t important, but supports that there are shady business practices going on. All things are relative.
PuroRaza, read this twice and slowly, just to make sure you don’t miss anything. And then read it one more time before you reply back.
Dude, shut the fuck up. It is not your place ask people to visit the links you post. It is your job to sumarize the content of those links in an appropriate manner. This is what you must do if you feel you need to call on someone’s bullshit.
The evasiveness and name dropping is suspicious, but the second part of that sentence is not.
What’s wrong with gi training in an MMA gym? Hermes Franca trains with the gi, and that’s just one example.
Also, what the fuck is a BJJ technique? Tell me exactly what BJJ techniques he was teaching that may not be present in Judo or JJJ as Tom Kagan previously asked.
Do you have a link or an actual reference where Guerra claims a BJJ background?
BJJ may be the most predominant and most suscessful form of JJ, but it’s not the only one. Granted most forms of JJ you find that are not BJJ, AJJ or Judo are bullshit, but not all are. For example, one of my former BJJ instructors not only was a legit BJJer, but also had a black belt in Sanuces Ryu jujutsu.
Also, think Remko Pardoel. He does BJJ now AFAIK, but before that, he was IMO the perfect example of a JJ man that knew how to fight without having a BJJ background.
Claiming to do JJ does not immediately means he claims to do BJJ. Get your facts straight buddy.
So again, if you can prove that Guerra has claimed to be a BJJ instructor, you have a case. Otherwise, you do not.
Where is your proof that Guerra support worked fights?
Where is your proof that he’s claiming a BJJ background?
ZOMG, he’s doing it for profit. Please send this to every professional MMA fighter and see what they say.
What? Are these people minors? Or are they adults? If an adult is willing to go to a “pro” fight with 2 months of training, that’s their choice (so long as they they get medical clearance.)
Ad hominem.
I’m looking forward to see your answers to the very specific questions I’ve layed out above for you.
Either way, I misjudged the forum format, and accept that. But with pissy know-it-alls immediately all over me, you can imagine I would become defensive.[/QUOTE]
When you say things like “If someone told you he could get you fights in Tijuana after a month’s training and that he’d get you on a reality show, you wouldn’t find that shady?” you are fudging things.
That’s a huge “IF” you’ve got there. You have provided no evidence that Guerra is encouraging new fighters with a month’s training to fight MMA in Tijuana. You have provided no evidence that Guerra is telling new fighters he has a reality show or that he can get them casted on it. It doesn’t matter what we think of those actions unless we have some reason to believe they actually happened.
This is the same as if you and I had this conversation:
Me: “Did you hear that George Bush ordered a whole town in Idaho wiped out by the Marines just because a secret biological weapon was accidentally released there?”
You: “Where did you hear that? It’s kind of hard to believe that really happened.”
Me: “So, you’re saying that if George Bush ordered the murder of an entire town of men, women and children, you’d be OK with that? You’re just as bad as he is!”
Do you see the disconnect? You missed a step in there.
