no nonsense judo

Honestly, if our society would get rid of hand shaking and replace it with bowing it would save on medical bills. More hygenic.

Don’t call it bowing. It is a ‘rei’. Different paradigm from different civilization.

…it’s bowing.

Yet you ask our advice.

Since I can’t neg rep anymore. I just wanted to add to the ocean of people who think you are a fucktard.

Grappler, read the forum descriptions before you post.

Also, you have ego issues. Quit whining and get the fuck over yourself. Sack up and train.

Would a staff member please throw this crap out of DHS?

Advice on finding a sambo or judo school. Yes. I understand you are a judo instructor. Where is your school located?

It is well hidden and I hope you never find it.

Give it a rest. After I accidentally stumbled across your post where you mentioned that you teach judo, I looked up some of your other posts, hoping you’d mention the location. No such luck. However, I noticed you do talk a lot of shit on this website so you are hardly a model of good behavior. If you forget about this kowtowing thing and let me just shake hands with the people I’ll randori, I happen to be a good student. Maybe you’ll tell me the location after all?

Off the mat I am what I am. On the mat it’s time to work out with like minded people. Hurt feelings, emo behavior, pouting, ego issues, all distract from the issues at hand and have no place on the mat. Ass kissing, kowtowing, and formal titles are not used anywhere near me. My students call me Tom and we treat each other with mutual respect. I don’t care if people bow or not. I would only be concerned that if this issue is so big for you, what other kind of crap would you bring. Do you get all pissy when you “lose” during practice? Do you understand the difference between randori and shia? How much do we have to change to accomodate you? The truth is that I am willing to teach Judo and unwilling to run a daycare.

Bowing isn’t usually, from what I’ve been exposed to, on your knees. Get over yourself, take some prozac, and go train.

You can’t do judo without bowing. Different schools do different amounts, but even at the mma gym where I go we still sit seiza and bow some of the times. It’s in the rules for the olympics and all other judo competitions.

Also, sitting seiza is good for your top game.

There may be sambo, I don’t know where.

The only kneeling rei I’ve ever done in Judo was to an opponent I was about to begin newaza randori with and he was doing the same thing to me.

ignore “grappler” guys he’s an obvious troll and if he isn’t a troll he doesn’t deserve any help finding a school to get thrown out of after a month.

In my judo school we sit in Seiza at the beginning of class, sometimes at the end. We bow on and off the mat, and we bow to our instructors as they bow to us. We do a kneeling bow in seiza, both students and instructors.

I am told it is a form of respect and to acknowledge the time our instructors have put in, they bow to acknowledge the time we have put in to come and train and as a promise to teach to the best of their ability.

It’s nothing more then that, it is not to make anyone feel lessened or humiliated.

For randori we bow to begin (sometimes) when standing, from the knees after groundwork, as your already on the ground or from standing after standing randori.

It’s polite.

There ya go, a good chunk of what SF has to offer in grappling.

Yojimbo you are too kind.

Douchebag OP could have used…hold on…what’s it called…ohhh it’s close…oh yeah…Google.

I try, sort of.

You know, Grappler got me thinking, why shake hands with others in a MA class?

It’s just so humiliating!!!

It’s so unhygienic and you have to touch other people, and if it’s only guys in your class, it would be quite gay.

I’d never go to a judo/bjj/wrestling school where the people there shook hands, even if they did offer top of the line training.

Shaking hands is just so submissive and degrades those who do it.

Right?

The way Grappler is acting you’d think he expects that we get on our knees to suck sensei’s dick and bend over to make it easier to be fucked in the ass. :homo:

Maybe that’s the past experience he has had in judo;
He went to a openly gay dojo where all they did was as follows:
bow>suck>randori>newaza foreplay>fuck in the ass>repeat.

He was fine with evrything else but that damn bowing!
It’s just So Gay!
