I just happened to witness some poor reporter on FOXNews get battered with a Ridgehand (Haito); 2 of them to be exact. The strikes spilt his face, there was a decent amount of blood and he was dropped like a bad habit.
Albeit, the striker seems to be a piece refuse, and I believe being interveiwed for violent acts, lol (Caso Cerrado). The aggressor was quickly subdued from behind by another man and all three tumbled to the ground.
But, all in all the shot was good and I thought worth sharing. If you have time to check it out, do so.
Some guy being interviewed ridgehanded the reporter twice? Was this a ridgehand or a chop/knife hand? Because I can’t imagine some untamed guy use something as awkward as a ridgehand the way I know it, and pull it off not once but twice before being subdued AND draw blood with it…
I just saw this, actually. Reporter got attacked confronting members of an identity theft ring. Guy whacked the reporter with a forearm and went for t3h face gouge, while the cameraman caught it all on tape.
That doesn’t have the preamble with the woman attacking the camera. Anyway, looking again, the guy comes in with two ridgehands and follows up with a face gouge, then hangs until (and maybe even after) a third guy takes them both to the ground. The attacker basically suckerhit the reporter.
Can’t make a functional link, but it’s at foxnews.com under “Today’s Features” with the title “Caught on Tape – Video: Couple arrested after brutal beating of journalist investigating story”)
Err… he wasn’t “dropped”, he turned away from his attacker because he doesn’t know how to fight, but he certainly kept his feet until the three of them went down together.
There WAS a decent amount of blood after they’d been on the ground for nearly six minutes (the time it reportedly took the police to arrive). Considering that he was also treated for BITES, it’s entirely possible that the blood came from some wound OTHER than the initial ridgehand strikes from Mr. Suleiman.
Yes, the attacker, Sam Suleiman, and his wife, Rosa, both seem like real scumbags and he has a colorful criminal history.
Well, they all went to the ground, but Sam wasn’t “subdued”. He kept crappling and biting until the police arrived. The black gentleman, Brain Phillips, probably saved John Madis, the reporter, from a much more serious injury by intervening, so I don’t want to be overly critical. However, he missed a few good opportunites to end the attack. Even a month or two of good grappling instruction would have allowed him to finish that particular confrontation very quickly.
Well, it certainly SOUNDED like a good shot, I’ll grant you that. I heard a distinct ‘pop’ on the video. It even looked pretty good. With two free shots on a reporter that apparently has no idea how to fight though, I’d hope to be able to score a knockout.
