New Policy

No. This is a sports forum. If you want to discuss the Martial Arts aspects of things, go to the 90238402384 other forums we have here.

Okay, my bad. I thought it meant on the entire bullshido forum.

Good to go then.

shit speak

well alright vill, but whats your point for posting this, there’s no way to know if someone is posing or not, unless you meet and one of you is left doing lip pushups.

Who let you out of your cage… err… newbie town?

My point in posting this is that its the policy. We have quite a few people on staff, so you can rest assured it wasn’t a unilateral decision.

As far as posing goes, thats not the point and I don’t recall addressing it in this post.

Does this apply to former fighters?

i boxed USABF 23-3-1, toughman contests 7-4-0, wrestled HS/JHS, judo competition 3-5, amateur MT 1-1, of course this was prior to 1997. I worked club security for 5 years, Part Time LE (to make a little extra when I was aparamedic), so I ask you in all seriousness, do you think I am entitled to talk a little shit? Oh and I have fought about 60 smokers ( amateur boxing: one shot tournies, sort of like tune up fights but they do not screw with your win/loss record) record is about 30-30 in those but hell I never kept track. My wrestling background includes a bunch of losses but I’v been in about 50 tournaments and duels so probably 150 matches. I know this does make me a pro fighter but I can handle myself, so how about it? Can I have a voice or am I to out date like the milk in my fridge?

The boxing and thai matches make you an amateur fighter.

Villian

Are you a pro?

No, I’m an amateur as well.

Cool,

If you are young enough and have got any talent go pro, at least give a shot. I was all ways to big of a pus to take the leap. It wasn’t about getting hurt (although that can happen) it was about the time factor. To be pro you have to dedicate a minimum of 18 hours pe week to training and that is if you have talent. If you have less talent, well, try more like 32-40. But, I think a young guy should go for it. I damn well wished I had.
On another note, I think the shit talking policy is actually pretty good. ( not to sound like a kiss ass) I think there are a lot of people on this board that are keyboard warriors and not much else and frankly, it gets old. I mean I’ve watched on these boards scrap on the throwdown vids and there are some sharp people in here. I wish I had some decent footage of some of my old fights, a couple of them are interesting. I think I am going to try to attend a throwdown one of these days and maybe even step into the ring.
I occasional think about writing a post about the difference betwen pride and honor for this board, becuase there seems to be a whole lot of the former and not enough of the latter. Present company excluded. Most of you I have seen on throwdown vids seem to have a pretty good head on your shoulders and are serious about the sport so keep up the good work I think this site is swell.

Actions speak louder than words anyway. so if someone waste time talking a lot of shit…they’re probaly better at talking than fighting.

Have to disagree with that one…

becuase one name immediatly comes to mind of one bad ass who talked HUGE amounts of shit…ALI!:icon_salu

I stand corrected on that one! You’re right, he talked it and walked it

Nobody cares if fighters talk shit.

It’s the keyboard warriors, trolls, and douchey teenagers that aren’t allowed to run their mouths in this forum.

Sometimes making it pro is about where you’re at. I know my time in the military I’ve haven’t been anywhere that has had a well known school or a school with connections. So, skill is a big part, but my opinion is that also being in the right area will help you go pro a lot quicker than others. I know a ton of guys that just to tough man contest because that’s all that’s offered where he’s stationed. There’s a guy that stationed here with me that has connections w/ Rage in the Cage people. He’s had a few fights with them, but I don’t know if it was prior military or not, but hopefully a few fights with that organization will help beef up my application by the time I get back to Japan.

Phrost is right on this one, there are a lot of kidds that join this forum, post a bunch of crap, troll, and talk shit about how they could whip this person or that person. I don’t know, but I’ve been a couple of scraps and I’ve watched several throwdown vids on here and there are some tuff folks in here.
Kaoskd, I know what you’re talking about, back in the late 80’s early 90’s tuffmen contests were about the only venue for amateur fighters in NE oklahoma and no one takes them seriously becuase there are a lot of shitty fighters. I hope the Rage of the Cage helps your resume. But, a humble word of advice, my fights in tuffmans actually hurt me with a coach in Oklahoma that had coached Olympic level fighters including Roy Jones, his name was Roger Hayes, and I think he saw guys who fought toughmans as brawlers and not serious fighters. So make certain it’ll help you and not hurt you. :XXsunsmil

So “Hey did you see the (Insert names) fight last night? Fighter 1 had a good all round game but fighter 2 was obviously out of his league/needs to really work on his standup/ground”, is fine but “Did you see Fighter 2? He fucking sucked!!!” isn’t? Is that not just common sense though? Or Sherdog?

Good rule, I approve.

What about former fighters curently on medical discharge from fighting?

How many fights do you need to post a comment?
