New Hobby!

Since Law School has pretty much eliminated most of the time and energy I wanted to have for training, I picked up a new hoby and a method of transportation. Also, I fell of my bicycle doing a stupid stunt and it had put me out of training for a few weeks.

While the little bike is already starting to feel like a bicycle and I’m already getting bored of the power, every day I ride I learn something new. I’m constantly being reminded that there is more of the bike I can use. A lot different feeling than racing cars.

hopefully after school I’ll start doing track days then get back into racing cars/karts!

PS: My kart is for sale if you live in the so-cal area for reallllll cheap!

PPS: I turned 23 today.

I know there are a whole bunch of riders out there, if there isn’t a thread already post pics of your bike/gear/etc!

What is it about fuckheads and that motor cycle?

Must fuckheads get a 600CC SS as their first bike and take themselves out of the gene pool

Or you’ve been seeing people who think they’re gonna get a bike just to save on gas.

BTW this isn’t my first time out riding

Neither is the Star Wars nerd that just bought this bike 2 months ago.

How can you have time to joy ride during law school?!? Commercial outlines?

Hardly do :frowning: Mainly to places to go study at. LOL. On weekends I put in hours of riding then go read. Life sucks for an 1L
Saving the comm. outlines till finals to supplement.

Tru dat home slice. I get to train maybe once a week in the mornings, and then some boxing and jits one or two nights a week. Only good thing is that I’ve hit the weights again, but what good does my rockin’ new bod do when I’m behind a desk all day? NOTHING! That’s what!

Are you also unfortunate enough to be a law student? I hit weights once a week. I used to go to jujitsu twice a week and judo once a week my frist few weeks, but right now I just run every day aside from weights.

Good news is that there are much fewer people in shape at school… and I still have time to play around with girls, but not really any more time after that.

I got a question for you riders. Do you know if motorcycle racers learn to fall? I saw a couple of crash videos where the guys execute some really good rolls. Stupid question…

Like the first highside here. Remind you of your Judo class? It looks hardly perfect… but pretty good for a guy with all his gear on who just got hit with a bike!

I’ve been on my computer dicking around… really really gotta go read now!!

Fixed.

TK gets an exemption.

I was just waiting on some lawyer joke. I’m wondering that myself, why am I here? lol

Why are you there? I work around lawyers every day, they’re uniformly miserable. The day you pass the bar is awesome and it’s downhill every day after that. Most specialize so it’s not like they’re intellectually challenged and plowing new legal ground. They’re typically grinding out the same type of case over and over, completely buried in paperwork with deadlines hovering over their heads. Any prestige the career had in the past has long since evaporated leaving only a bitter aftertaste in the collective unconscious.

But if you like it it’s cool.

I actually like the classes, just hate the fuckton of work. Out of the things I studied I find this something I feel is worth the fight to learn. (aside from martial arts of course)

But I do find it funny (in a cynical way) that a lot of lawyers are unhappy.

Besides, my other option was get stuck looking for a job with my B.S. and then when I do, make phone calls all day trying to sell insurance products or mutual fund shares.

Sooooo… anyone wanna post about their bike? Damn, wish I can change the thread title

In Aus when you’re on your motorbike L’s (restricted liscence) you’re only allowed to ride certain bikes. It used to be nothing over 250cc but then they realised that was pretty useless for bigger people. So now there’s a list. Is it not similar over there?

Though, to be honest, i wanted a Kawasaki ER6n (which is a 600) when i saw it second hand for a really good price. When i’m off my P’s i’m buying one.

Ninja drivers around here are a lot less annoying than the Harley drivers. They actually drive like they know what they’re doing.

I’m pretty glad I got a small bike, couple of times I muscled the bike around to save from laying it down that I def. couldn’t have done on a bigger bike. I weigh about 195 lbs with full gear.

Although, If I’m on the freeway for a while and the flow of traffic is 75mph+, then I’m usally saying to myself “please let this be over please let this be over please let this be over”

Here there are no licensing laws that are based on the displacement of the bike.

The er6n isn’t a super sport, apparently they are a lot more friendlier to novices than a 600cc super sport is (such as a ZX6R)… I’m already bored of the power of the 250, but I still have so much to learn. So I guess you aren’t a “fuckhead”

however, I know plenty of people who survived their first few years on a superbike, though if you ask me, the learning curve sucks for them IMO

Whats 75mph in kmph? Like 100? When i hit those kind of speeds it’s fun, but i dont think i could do it for any long distances. The bike wouldn’t like it either.

Damn, i’m jealous. We also aren’t allowed to carry a passenger until we’re off our restricted.

I feel like that to, i haven’t ridden through town much, and i still hate dealing with traffic lights and shit. Picking it up is a bitch to. I dropped it once (in the gravel, i was avoiding a cat) and had to get it up on my own. Never again. Never, ever again.

So I guess you aren’t a “fuckhead”

Lol, good to know.

What’s the age of majority in Australia?

dunno. why?

Restricting vehicle or substance usage past the voting age seems pretty damn stupid to me.

It is. Governments do it to impress the parents and annoying old people because they think they’re protecting us.
