:5censored Everytime you type God kills a bunny.
Maybe if someone did a little boxing they could skip the Iron Face training.
Last person that boxed me broke his hand on my head. Kung fu > Boxing.
Bwahahah, he was supposed to do golden gloves that year too.
Why? I don’t understand why people are so insistent on making fun of TKD. TKD kicks might not be as powerful as MT kicks but they certainly have great power, despite being weaker than MT. They are fast also. I think the sparring gear makes the kicks “look” weak. However, TKD guys actually to kick pretty hard. Please don’t be judgemental.
Answer the fucking question and stop whining like a little bitch.
I figure a fast roundhouse to the head could get the job done in a pinch, and the back side kick is a keeper, but I don’t see why you would use TKD style kicks for the rest of it. They’re not really significantly faster.
I dont really think that proves anything since broken hands can happen to anyone no matter what striking style they’re using.
Though it does show that A: The boxer was able to hit you. B: You dont slip so well.
Boxing> Kung Fu imo
How about answering MY question, you bunch of whiteknuckle bunny killers? :tongue3:
My initial post was sarcasm. I totally believe that a solid boxing type skillset is a huge help for anyone that wants to be competitive in kickboxing. When I kickbox i throw almost exclusively punches and utilize a lot of slipping (i fight with my hands pretty low, so i have to) and footwork. Most of which i learned or heavily refined by working hard with boxing coaches and sparring under a boxing ruleset with skilled boxers. Without this type of boxing training I believe it would have taken me much longer to become as effective as I am.
I cant really say for mens muay thai, but The tendancy in womens muay thai is the opposite, most women tend towards relying on their clinching and kicks and I suspect that if i dont play that game I’ll have a lot of success and probably stand out from the competition. (Everyone at my last fight thought i had a ton of boxing experiance and my fight was one of the most talked about ones of the night according to the bar-tender.
Besides, slipping punches looks slicker then a greased pig.
Ahhhh, now I get your post Thanks for the explanation
My first time sparring the guy I was put against made me so winded by just making me miss my punches. This is after he hit me so hard he made my Head gear spin around.
Anna reminds me of Zambidis
someone who can bang with the best but against an actual muay thai fighter gets fucked (even in retardo MT rules)
Explain?
He Said Gong Sau
He called you a wimp … ( but I think he may just be trying to get a paid match with you )
I dont think he was callingme a wimp, i am just curious as to why he thinks i’d be fucked against an “actual muay thai fighter”. I just wonder what advantage the “actual” thai fighter will have over me since my clinch work is extremely solid. Really the only thing i dont do paticularly well is kicking, though i can certainly do that very hard when i feel inclined. I just feel that it’s somewhat risky in MMA and since i train primarily for that venue i dont care to make it a large part of my training.
Except I purposely broke his hand. Ohhhhh, didn’t know I could do that? YEAH BABY! Kung-fu > Boxing.:bootyshak
Iron Face training… I’d try that but I’m man pretty
In all seriousness. If boxing is all that is in your area, then take it. But I have to agree with Anna here, MT is better on a whole because you learn legs, knees, elbows and the dreaded clinch. I envy people who have it in their area as all I have is boxing slipping is important and all, but I would not pass up kicking people in the skull for learning to slip if I had to choose one or the other
Yeh but you’re a freak of nature anyways.
Keep in mind that most kung fu guys look like this:
and the only thing they’ll ever break in their life is their glasses.
I hate you…
I
So
hate
you
We know that most kung-fu guys are yogurt eating, tree hugging hippies, then again it leaves more cow for the real fighters. mmmmmm cow.
