Mr. Chen Goes To College

(Or, You Didnt Think You Were Getting Away That Easy, Did You?)

The reason for this thread is to help you remedy your faulty thinking and the flaws in your character, i.e., all the things you should have learned in kindergarten. At the conclusion, you will be on your way to being a functioning adult, able to contribute meaningfully to society. The format will be in the form of daily lessons. From time to time there will be a pop quiz to chart your progress, so pls make sure you keep up with the work.

Despite the title, the material presented will actually be preparatory to the issuing of your General Educational Development (GED) certificate. The link below will take you to the Hawaii State Department of Education, requirements for the GED. As the webpage says, The key to passing is getting prepared, and sticking with your dream. You will have to meet minimum requirements in basic education, English literacy and civics.

Due to your special circumstances, there will also be occasional lessons in other topics, including personal hygiene, career guidance, and playing well with others.

No pressure Big Guy, we have a long time all semester to get you ready for graduation. As I mentioned, there will be a lot of work involved, so I have decided to request the help of two gentlemen that you already know Mr. Bneter and Mr. Rabbit. Gentlemen, pls feel free to chime in from time to time with your suggestions. I may also occasionally have need of a substitute teacher. Of course, anyone else in BS is welcome to offer their support to Mr. C as well.

Sincerely wishing you good luck in your future endeavors.

1st Lesson: Where did I go wrong?

Let’s get started. The thread “King of the Kill” began with Mr. Bneter’s mention of water pollution as being a factor in cancer becoming the No.1 killer in the U.S. You jumped to the conclusion that he was wrong, and called him “an idiot.” The thread continued with the question of whether pollution was a factor in the rising rates of cancer. You made the following statements with regards to my posts:

“I was mocking your implied “rising cancer rates are related to rising rates of ‘pollution’” premise, because it’s flat out wrong.” and;
“Environmental pollution is a tangent you added based on conjecture.” and;
“Where you get that idea, I have no clue. I’m just familiar with the topic.” and
“If you want to go off with hyperbole and unsupported conjecture be my guest.” and
“You making up counter-arguments out of thin air is just the icing on the cake. “ and
“Nice try. The rising rates of cancer /= cancer.”

Assignment: read the abstract of this scholarly article: http://www.sciencemag.org/content/193/4247/55.short: The abstract states ““Multivariant regression analysis indicates a statistically significant relation between cancer mortality rates in Louisiana and drinking water obtained from the Missippi (sic) River. This is true for total cancer, cancer of the urinary organs, and cancer of the gastrointestinal tract.”

And this one: http://eurpub.oxfordjournals.org/content/15/6/652.abstract: In the full text of the article, under Background: “The pollution of drinking water has long been recognized to be associated with an increased risk of cancer in some epidemiological studies.” Under Discussion: “In fact, the real association is due to the water quality, i.e. the carcinogens in water and the degree of pollution. Pesticide remains and nitrate pollutants were examined with interest and taken as having positive correlation to CRC .”

And this one: http://jech.bmj.com/content/44/2/114.short: “CONCLUSIONS–Under conditions found in Cracow, air pollution may increase lung cancer risk, acting multiplicatively with known risk factors such as smoking and industrial exposure.”

And this one: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1637154/: “Occupational studies confirm that pollutants present in town air are capable of causing lung cancer in man and suggest that the pollutants and cigarette smoke act synergistically. The trends in the mortality from lung cancer in young and middle-aged men in England and Wales provide uncertain evidence but support the belief that atmospheric pollution has contributed to the production of the disease.”

As it turned out, the OP’s point was not so ridiculous. In other words, he was RIGHT, and you were WRONG. You know what they say – “Winning isn’t everything, but losing is nothing.”

HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA!

I would probably be justified in calling you a dumb fuck, but in fact, there is no real difference in intelligence between you and the OP. He continued the thread by making other original, if controversial, observations. The real difference is that you are nothing but a self-serving, arrogant asshole, who doesn’t know when he’s getting himself in trouble.

Homework:

 1. Explain the terms “multiplicatively” and “synergistically.”

 2. Where does pesticide in the water come from? Discuss

 3. Write an essay on why we need to know what we are talking about before we reveal our posing and make ourselves look like a witless imbecile.

Tomorrow, Lesson No. 2. Class Dismissed.

I love my weasel puppet!
I have my fist up his ass; i make him sing and dance!
Sing and dance for the nice people Mr Weasel, sing and dance!

Grab my wrist!

Oh ffs… Another thread guaranteed to be a winner.

This is pretty much how I see this thread unfolding.

There, fixed that for you.
There, fixed that for you.
This is just about as fucking retarded as Jenny Mcarthy trying to link autism to vaccines. You should work for Fox News.

Can I play?

I have 0 interest in reading a “scholarly,” article that fails to have Mississippi correctly spelled in its abstract. I learned how to spell it correctly IN KINDERGARTEN.

…and it’s like W.Rabbit all over again. “I don’t like what you said, so I will change what you wrote and SHOW YOU how much smarter I am than you.”

It didn’t work for him either.

He still hasn’t figured out that he was quoting the WHO and ASCO on cancer rates then dismissing their findings, because “Ermagerd! Chermicerls!!1!”.

That parallel is fucking hilarious.

ED all over again.
I just really don’t understand how you guys can condone shitting in your own water.
You and capn need to play football, with all of the goal posts you keep moving.

Damnit!
So shit causes cancer now?

Probably Dysentery. But I’m sure if Fox News said it was a good idea you would be the first to squat by the lake.
Probably Dysentery. But I’m sure if Fox News said it was a good idea you would be the first to squat by the lake.
LOL like CNN is any better.
LOL like CNN is any better.
It’s a little bit better, sure they still push their opinions off as “impartial”, but not anywhere near the level of Fox. Fox has lowered the bar significantly on propaganda news.
Probably Dysentery. But I’m sure if Fox News said it was a good idea you would be the first to squat by the lake.
LOL, because i know you’re a moron, that means i watch Fox News?
