AIDs and STDs. A bunch of bloody and sweaty men rassling on the ground with little clothing can only give way to such infections. Seriously, I mean, UFC is great and all, but I would not want to get near any one of those guys. Even if the infection hasn’t set in, I’m sure many of these pros are carriers of some kind of STD. I posted this in the comedy forum since I doubt much serious discussion can come from it, but it is a kind of concern. Your thoughts?
You can get by a car crossing the street too. Besides, everyone knows cagefighters don’t get laid.
Unless I’m seriously mistaken, they are tested as part of being cleared by boxing commisions to fight.
Se Tommy Morrison (and his subsequent attempts to return because of what appeared to be a false positive.
Blood test every six months to keep your pro license in Nevada. Pre-fight physical required.
Piss-test after every win.
You can’t get AIDS from sweat. The risk of blood-to-blood infection during contact sport is extremely low.
Shit post. Shit thread. Neg Rep.
Come to think of it, the OP is shitty but that would make for an ultimate Wimp Lo moment…
“I’m bleeding therefore making YOU the AIDS victim!”
I think I caught the aids from this thread.
You didn’t think the UFC may have this covered?
At smaller shows however I do see a big worry for things like hepatitis. I know at the shows in town here none of the fighters are tested for anything. Hell their lucky if their weight is recorded properly. Because of the noobness of a lot of the fighters we tend to see a few bloodbaths too.
The fights here in CA all get tested unless you fight on a Res. MRI and bloodtests for all other venues.
With the UFC’s policy of “Stand Up an Punch Each Other!”, there is little chance of any ill effects from grappling.
is flinging your AIDS-infected blood at your opponent a legitimate submission attempt?
Your Style field is blank, what art do you study?
Let’s have a look:
Very serious, indeed.
A bunch of bloody and sweaty men rassling on the ground with little clothing can only give way to such infections.
Proof?
Seriously, I mean, UFC is great and all,
Yes they are, they have done a lot of good things for martial arts.
but I would not want to get near any one of those guys.
Scared?
Even if the infection hasn’t set in, I’m sure many of these pros are carriers of some kind of STD.
Stereotype much? Proof?

Next time wear a condom.
Was awfully early for this kind of nonsence. Seriously, I don’t fight in the UFC, but I have to suspect that they are screening their fighters for disease and infections. I’m sure they are on top of this for the protection of their fighters and the reputation of their business.
Has there been an infected fighter that competed? I havent heard of any, but I’m not up on all the MMA/UFC/K1 news.
In his case,
