Non-Violence has everything to do with fighting? That’s like saying that cold has everything to do with baking. More ignorance.
Counter argument please. “More ignorance” does not satisfy my wanting for an explanation.
I really want to understand your reasoning, and I want to reach a level of connection where we possibly can both understand each other.
It is funny you used that example. So, next time I bake, i will use milk that isn’t refrigerated, and eggs which were not either. Cold has a lot to do with baking properly.
While I do not enjoy MA’s used as a definite strategy for developing non-violence, I do respect that fact that it COULD be used as a strategy for developing it, as many people have done in the past. It angers me when people only give me one choice in a situation rather then letting me express myself fully, which is what pops into my head when I see “Non-Violence” and MA’s mixed.
Baking properly has nothing to do with refridgerated ingredients. Anyone that lives on a farm, much closer to Nature can use all fresh ingredients to bake with.
Personally, I think that more people should be non-violent, especially when concerning the ignorant, but when training to hurt and kill people, it should only extend to advise like “Don’t use this unless your life or the lives of those you love are threatened”.
How is living on a farm “much closer to nature”? For every strategy, there is another one that works just as well for other people. “Cold” is needed for some people to bake, since not all people live on farms, and choose to meet their needs in other ways.
I very much dislike using “should” in these arguments. I do not like demanding people follow only one path or mindset that I set up.
What do you mean “when concerning the ignorant”? Is this everyone without your mindset? My moralistic judgment at this moment is telling me that this is what you believe.
No, the “ignorant” are those, such as a racist (which in and of itself is tremendously ignorant, since there is no such thing as race, besides the human race, of course, IMO), who choose to voice their faulty thinking in public. Such as… well, I can think of many examples. I’m sure everyone else can too.
A farm, such as an Amish community, or even a farm where they gather fresh eggs and milk daily, is much closer to nature than the Synthetic environment that we (most of us) live in today. When was the last time that you built your shelter for the night, or hunted or foraged for your dinner? If you did, it was probably just for the weekend, not a daily event. That is close to nature. Not working 40hrs a week and then going to the store for dinner, or worse yet, Taco Bell.
I very much dislike using “should” in these arguments. I do not like demanding people follow only one path or mindset that I set up.
I don’t get what you are saying here. I also dislike should, but not as much as “must”. Unless used in a specific context, such as what an olympic athlete SHOULD do to win in his particular event. Partying every night while at trials probably is something they SHOULD NOT do. But anyway, preaching to the Buddha…
I’ve never gathered eggs that were cold. The chickens wouldn’t have been doing their jobs!
I’ve never milked a cow, but I’ve milked goats, and the milk was probably the body temp of the goat, I would guess. So, no, they weren’t.
… just some more low signal-to-noise posts in a MABS thread.
Jim_Jude,
My wife is a pastry chef. you don’t know the entire extent of what you are talking about.
But regardless, final warning: Stay on topic. Your good posts should not be more trouble than it’s worth for me to sift through.
Which topic? Baking and refridgerated ingredients, Non-violence in Martial Arts, people calling me anti-semitic, or something else. I’m lost on this one.
The fact that you are lost does not surprise me. The answer to your question on this stupid tangent is found right in front of your nose in the title to this thread.
Your posts need to have more substance to them. I will not re-edit them to remove the chaff you are putting in them. The ones I left in the thread are fine. But you need to stop the verbal diarrhea
Okay.
Guys, you need to think of using analogies as a dark forest. If you aren’t good enough at orienteering to walk into it and not get lost all day, you should stay out.
Now THAT was a great analogy. The grammar was only decent, however.
