Martial arts is a waste of time!

I cannot believe I wasted so much time, money, and effort on doing Martial arts all these years. thanks to sitting on my ass surfing the net, I have found the only thing that truly works. After buying this DVD set, I have become the deadliest motherfucker to ever own a DVD player!

http://www.close-combat-video.com/oldss.html:bowdown:

Martial arts why hast thou forsaken me!

So this dvd set will teach you how to defend yourself from multiple armed assailants in any conceivable environment, while defending yourself and your loved ones, even when you aren’t feeling 100%, and while you are old and/or crippled, and all with a handful of simple instinctive techniques?

"Be on the look out for impostors! It seems that there are are a lot of self defense “experts” claiming to have discovered authentic hand to hand combat. But wait a minute, weren’t these the same guys who were trying to sell you grappling and mixed martial arts videos last year?

Now you can learn from the SOURCE. You will discover the truth for yourself and reap the benefits of decades of field research, testing and trial and error.

Soon you will know…

“Why Martial Arts will Fail You Every Time…”"
Oh, the irony

Actually, I’m a big fan of the WWII combatives stuff.

Me too. Commandos were invented in WWII.

They had this way of killing nazis from behind by pulling back real hard on thier pith helmets. apparently the back brim of the helmet would cut into the nazi’s shoulders and break his neck.

you ppl are t3h dumb. Everybody knows that martial arts suck for self defence, most people only practice them because of the cool gi’s, if you really want self defence sit on the couch eating MC’Donalds and watch a 50/100 dollar DVD and become GOD OF WAR

what happens if two people who watch it fight ? of course that such things as training and phisical fitness arent gonna be decisive factors, but they both saw t3h d34fly DVD oh no omg what will happen!!!aaaaaarghhljhdjksfbks…the universe collapses on itself

Basically, these sites just gather every known RBSD myth and cliche, wrap them all together, repeat them 20 times over in different ways and add some ninja magic. I wonder if people actually buy this shit? :ninjadanc

Of course they do. Otherwise this stuff wouldn’t exist.

Damn it “sob” I knew I should,ve stuck with windmilling “sob”

What you guys don’t know…

It’s so easy to sit and talk out your rear ends isn’t it!

Any of you ever met the man?, NO?!
Any of you ever train with him?, NO?!
Any of you ever actually watched the entire tape of any that he offers?, NO?!
How do you know he isn’t capable of doing all that he says he can,
and that he isn’t able to teach others to do likewise?, No answers?!

Have I met him?, Yes, I used to meet with him at his home in N.J. Just a few blocks west from Yonezuka’s Dojo in Cranford.
Have I trained with him?, Yes, At the dungeon dojo in a church basement in Paramus N.J.
Any of you ever actually watched the entire tape of any that he offers?, Yes, I own many and continue to train with them.

Self Defense ain’t rocket science. I couldn’t care less what some guys trying to do to me. All I care about is terminating his ability to me any further grief!

How do I know he isn’t capable of doing all that he says he can,
and that he isn’t able to teach others to do likewise?
Because I’ve seen him in action, and I have seen many of his students in action.
Also, I greatly appreciate all that he has done for me on my behalf as a trainee.

So, who should anyone listen to, if they have an interest in this method?
Some guy who never did any of the above?, and just talks about it without any knowledge whatsoever?
Or, should they listen to someone who was actually there, and knows objectively what he is capable of,
Who also knows that his tapes can produce results for themselves, If they train in it?

Hmm?
Tell you what, You all can hate me all you want, Talk all you want.
Until and only until you’ve actually met with and trained with Carl Cestari;
You’re only talking!

Here endth the lesson!

Anybody that trains solely for the purposes of defending themselves because they will be attacked everytimt they go out at night and nee to know how to kill and dissmember evil doers to “survive” is wasting there time in martial arts classes, what they need to be spedning there money on is counselling to deal with there paranoia…

Why do all these “I’m t3h d34dly” hand-to-hand killer-by-mail guys always use the same bland website style with the constantly changing font, size, and colour. What, making your message hard to read is supposed to attract more clients?

I think all of the deadliest web course guys should have a massive throwdown (to the death of course, its all they know) with winner taking the entire dumbass sucker market for themselves.

You know, this is a very good point. I must be doing something wrong, because I’ve lived almost to the age of 40, travelled all over the world, been posted to two war zones, and never once have I yet had to kill anyone with my bare hands (or anything else for that matter). Whats with that?

Apparently the world is a deadly, evil place, but I and everyone I know are apparently just really really lucky.

That one is pretty bad…

Looks like he based it off someone elses, but missed a lot of the important points in making it work.

He needs more links to the order page for one, and the formatting really sucks, but:

The idea is no where to click off the page, as soon as that is put there people might click it and leave.

Next you want it too be fairly long, re-enforcing basically the same points over and over. If people here it enough they will start to believe it.

You also want everything to be in short pieces, more then a few lines in a paragraph and people get bored and click somewhere.

Sensastionalize everything, get there attention and keep it. Highlight things, lots of testimonials saying how great it is. Keep people reading, tell them exactly what they want to hear.

Lots of places to click, all leading to the same place - A registration form. Spaced out at regular intervals. As soon as they are sold you want them at that form, you don’t want them to keep reading and change there mind. Also, you want more for them to keep reading if they aren’t sold yet.

That’s the basic idea of what he is going for, just kinda misses some of the important bits…

compare the names of the testimonials with this totaly unrelated site http://www.swaptraining.com/wst_page4.html

Yawn. What a load of garbage.
Do they really think that no-one else has thought of this stuff before?

So have actually you seen him kill anyone with these deadly methods? Or maim them? Define “in action”.

In any case, claiming that you can train someone to fight effectively purely by video is fraud pure and simple. The claims about the Fairbairn syllabus are also borderline fraudulent - making out it’s comprised of martial arts “boiled down to their most common and effective methods” does not wash when large parts of it are made up of judo atemi. If I were going to pick techniques from judo to form an art, I sure as hell wouldn’t be including the striking. Then come the claims of magically picking up effective technique without years of training - and the amusing little coda “These methods are far too lethal. You wouldn’t want someone dying in the ring because you hacked the back of their neck with an axe hand.” Do you really, truly believe that would kill someone, supposing you could get an opening to do it?

About the only sensible advice I see here is the acknowledgement of the value of the pre-emptive strike, but even that’s presented irresponsibly. Hitting someone without being able to explain later why you felt they were going to attack you is called “assault” under law, and the site seems to trade in paranoia, not reasoned evaluation of a potential attacker’s physiological changes.

How about you give some reasons why we should believe this isn’t bullshit?

I think the pulling back the brim of the helmet was just to expose the throat so that you could stick a knife in behind the windpipe then slice forward. I think the idea of doing it this way was to make sure the first stab stopped them from screaming.

This kind of thing will never change. Most people want the easy way out, which lead them to delusions, most of the time.

Nowdays people don’t want to:

  • Spend hours in the training hall repeating the same punch over and over to make it perfect;
  • Get all ‘‘sore and sweaty’’ in conditioning, or learning how to receive a hit, for that matter;
  • Stay in bases for longer than 30 seconds;
  • etc

Illusion, it is. But again, we all know people who want big things but don’t want to work for it…
