Martial Arts' Forms and Their True Porpoise

Yeah, you only wanted positive attention. And lots of it.

Please check the title of this website.

Can’t wait for this stupid thread to end up in trollshido.
Tell me this than. Why did you post “jujitsu” (I don’t bother spelling it one way ot another) instead of JJJ, when you were fully aware that contemporary people say “Jujitsu” to refer to BJJ? Were you trying to be cryptic, baiting people into traps that they really don’t give a rat’s ass about? Do you think you’ll sound smarter by regurgitating JJJ-Judo history?
Hmm…now who is projecting? I was suggesting Japanese JJ. I can’t apologize for the perceptions of other people…
If you want to criticize boxing, the lack of KICKS would have been a much better way to criticize it. Common. Boxing doesn’t even attack the legs for chrissake. I just found it incredibly STUPID that you bring up striking on the ground, from the bottom position nonetheless
I did bring up the lack of kicks many posts ago, but I don’t think I ever posted a critique of boxing. I did ask some questions, but never bashed boxing. A lot of you are way more confused and ego-centric than you claim me to be…
Seriously, start posting to be informative/helpful/critical or GTFO. You can stroke your own cock at the leisure of your privacy.
I already was. I’ve looked through your post history. Less than 50% I’d consider informative/helpful/critical.

What I haven’t done in a single post is put anyone down, or their style, or their thinking. Take it to the bank.

Take care,

Could you answer the question? Are you saying you simply used Jujitsu, expecting others to understand that its JJJ, not BJJ? Did you realistically expect that? Yes/no question.

To summarize and paraphrase; boxing lacks training in ground striking. Thats like saying “swimming lacks training in cycling.” Out of the martial arts mentioned in this thread, please indicate martial arts that do. And where were you leading with this post? Why did you bring it up? Why? Please do tell.

You’re right about my post history. I usually keep my mouth shut until I see something really stupid or something I feel I can help. Most of my helpful posts stay in advanced striking forum because of crap like this. But at least I have a few truly helpful posts. And except for a very few posts, I have not posted to prove anything or make myself feel better about something.

It’d kind of hard to post anything useful when an army of people swarm over anything you say in one thread because you got a smackdown in another.

If that’s the case here Bullshido is definitely what you all posted the poll about…a lost site.

People more interested in gong sau for disagreements, posting their own mindless bullshit rants but jumping on legitimate seekers. I could go on.

This site is nothing new in the world of internet forum geeks, except you’re all geeks on roids.

Could it have something to do with someone giving advice without having first hand knowlege of what he is giving advice about?

Think about it.

I really don’t think it matters what I have first hand knowledge of on this site. People just want to post, troll, and troll some more.

I came to Bullshido for no-BS discussions about martial arts, I didn’t realize Bullshido was more about making assumptions of the first hand experiences of others (something you’re all doing), and the beating them up in a forum.

Someone has actually “threatened” me with a gong sau. I know what that means. It means I shouldn’t post anymore. So he wins.

Damn. All my pissed-off-sounding posts could have been summed up this nicely. It is true; I lack grace in my posts.

ED: You’re right I’m pretty nerdy. I’ve been in school 18 years and I still got a few more to go. But you know what? I’ve done every single martial art referenced here and more (except for hung gar and JJJ, and I suck at all the grappling styles although I get a feeling I’m still much more experienced at it than you are), won and lost in competitions most of the arts referred to, gotten beaten up and beat people outside martial arts, and continue to train in various arts.

I realize I lack the grace and respect in any of my posts (as well as being way too aggressive) to get people to try and understand their flaws and problems (although, I know when I’m wrong/misinformed/inexperienced) but I hope somehow you understand what people are trying to say.

Again, mirror, use it.

Don’t. You came here to argue. Plain and simple. Almost every thread you posted in is proof enough of this.

Someone has actually “threatened” me with a gong sau. I know what that means. It means I shouldn’t post anymore. So he wins.

-ED

A gong sau is not a threat, and it’s a frequent occurance on a forum where you back up what you say. I guess you’re not used to doing that. Figures.

Now I’m going to critique: who the FUCK are you to claim why I came here? I came to learn, joke around, and find some kindred spirits. But I found people like you: judgemental pricks who claim they want to have non-BS discussions but instead fall back on ad hominem attacks and attempted intellectual superiority.

Actually, Sri, a gong sau is clearly what forum idiots use on Bullshido to try to intimidate people into not speaking their minds. Something the site admins just recently posted a poll about and had a vast majority of the site agree on.

Listen, I’m going to prove I didn’t come here to argue. I’m going to leave, find out how to delete my account, and just keep training with my training brothers who don’t feel they have to constantly beat me with the epeens.

clap clap clap

"it is dangerous to attach one’s self to the crowd in front, and so long as each one of us is more willing to trust another than to judge for himself, we never show any judgment in the matter of living, but always a blind trust, and a mistake that has been passed on from hand to hand finally involves us and works our destruction. It is the example of other people that is our undoing; let us merely separate ourselves from the crowd, and we shall be made whole."

Is that why you’ve made over 4,000 posts more than I have.

Hypocrite much?

Wait. He’s saying that you should try to punch people who are on top of you?

What the fuck?

First of all, the didn’t threaten you with a Gong Sau. I don’t know if he did not have the balls to actually attach contingency of a Gong Sau, or if he was just trying to be a dick. Either way, I don’t care.

Secondly, you are here preaching to everybody. Someone calls your bullshit and questions your ability to give advice. If he wants to challenge you, its an opportunity to prove it or not.

Third, even if someone actually did challenge you, you have every right to decline respectfully, especially over something stupid like this. No one looks down on you for declining.

Whatever threat or harm you feel that you’ve suffered from the alleged “gong sau threat” is in your head.

Last word:
If you have a weakness and someone shows you that weakness, whether that is in sparring or in rhetoric on discussion forums, you should be glad that you’ve been shown because it is something you can correct.
Wait. He’s saying that you should try to punch people who are on top of you?

I killed a lot of time at work pointing that out.

I wasn’t being literal when I said “someone is sitting on you”. That’s the problem with you young forum nerds. Everything is literal to you…

So far of the entirety of Bullshido the only person who’s done this is Der in the thread on chan. At least he has the class to work with me instead of against me even if I didn’t see it at first.

I am a three decade veteran of internet forums. I am certainly capable of (eventually) telling the difference between constructive criticism disguised as deconstructive, and the rest of the rose shit smelling posters. Remember guys your grasp of martial virtue and art has NOTHING to do with how many thousands of posts you have here.

Some of the people who have blasted me for not posting what THEY felt as “informative or helpful” have, in fact, flooded the forums with hundreds of posts of idiotic material, stupid jokes, bathroom humor, and worse. And these same people are trying to jump all over me for posting this or that topic, which usually just involves me stating an INFORMED opinion about things I’ve actually taken a lot of time to study/learn. If anyone wants to bash that…you’re worse than the fake martial artists this site tries to expose. No student wants to learn from those type of people.
