Man faces prison for biting off nose

A man has been found guilty of biting off his girlfriend’s nose in a jealous rage, then virtually torturing her for hours.

A Superior Court of Ontario jury yesterday found Angel Jones, 27, guilty of aggravated assault, sex assault and uttering death threats in the Feb. 17, 2002 attack in the 26-year-old woman’s Birchmount Rd. apartment.

The long-lasting assault was “tantamount to torture,” prosecutor Paul Amenta had told the jury in his closing arguments.

On the night of the crime, the pair had had consensual sex in her home, but suddenly “a different person seemed to rear his head,” Amenta said.

Jones accused the woman of infidelity, put her in a headlock, bit off her nose, spitting it on to the floor, according to evidence.

She was “disfigured horribly,” Amenta said.

Police found her nose on the floor, but doctors were unable to reattach it. She has since had reconstructive surgery.

Dressed in a black jacket with dice on the back, Jones told Mr. Justice Norman Dyson yesterday he would be appealing the conviction and said he wanted transcripts of the trial.

The jury took less than 90 minutes to deliberate. It rejected Jones’ arguments, which he made himself after firing his lawyer mid-trial, that biting off her nose was accidental.

He argued that her nose was in his mouth but only came off because the weight loss medicine she was using made her skin fragile, the judge said in summarizing Jones’ position.

Nor did jurors buy his explanation that the victim had made up the story of the attack out of a desire for revenge.

They didn’t hear that he had seven previous convictions for assault, including four while he was incarcerated awaiting this trial.

He also has had drug possession, trafficking and prohibited weapons convictions.

The day he attacked the victim, he had just been released from prison.

“It’s the right result,” said Amenta, who told reporters he would be seeking the maximum sentence, which for aggravated assault is 14 years.

Jones appears in court June 21 to begin the sentencing process.

I hope this guy gets group sodomized with various large objects.

See, grappling and biting go together too.

I say and eye for an eye, nose for a nose…

Parliament calls for tighter teeth control.

i wonder what kind of reconstructive surgery she had. it must have been creative if they couldn’t reattach the original nose.

Fake noses have been around for centuries. Tycho Brahe had one back in the lat 1500’s after he lost part of his in a fight.

Eek… I think the guy should be glad that the jury just put him away, females + revenge + teeth = bad combination, just kidding.

Anyhow, thats one pretty fucked up story right there… I almost feel sorry for the lawyer defending the guy (lol…got fired half way through…thats hilarious) I mean how are you supposed to defend that? jeez…

Peter: “Thats when Clarence Thomas (no relation) took me into his room…and showed me lewd photographs of himself”
Judge: “Peter Griffin, we have INDISPUTABLE evidence that not ONLY were you never in the same room as Clarence Thomas, but you’ve never been in the same STATE… what do you have to say about this?”
Peter: (stares blankly) “bababooey!”

Family Guy is great…what point was I trying to make again?
oh well, the world may never know

WTF was the woman doing going out with him in the first place. I find that more strange than the nose biting.

Yeah women and psychos don’t usually mix to well.

i heard that the next day the woman encountered her nose and was astonished to find that it had disguised itself as a state councilor and was pretending not to know her.
