Males DO NOT read this article

BackFistMonkey, You’re right about the ultimatum. My initial post comes across as some kind of holier-than-thou spam. I’m still learning about how to brand myself and as you can see; progress is slow. My accident was something very personal from a long time ago that is unfortunately a matter of public record. I should have handled this completely differently.

lol such a bad pic but yeah thats-a-me.

yep, that’s-a-me.

This thread will undoubtedly rise to the number one or two under your name. Maintain a thick skin, don’t post stupid shit and you’ll do okay here.

Good luck and stay away from sharp objects.

I guess …HimselfInTheNuts didn’t fit?
I am going to level with you, here, nothing wrong with posting in a thread about yourself but at least make it interesting, I judge not for stupidity in ones youth god only knows the amount of crazy stupid shit I have done. But if you are going to post about yourself at least make it interesting. If you are going to say you do data analysis at least put what actually makes you qualified to do it.
Firstly, thank you for your reply because it is some much needed criticism. I thought for a long time about what my qualifications are and I read a lot about what a person is saying when they say that they practice “Data Science” as it is a specific field. I study data in a scientific manner and I figured that made me a Data Scientist which is in reality not even the friggin’ service I was trying to advertise. I’m not going to bother elaborating here; because, despite this story being mine, it doesn’t give me the right to impose on the community here.
I guess …HimselfInTheNuts didn’t fit?
It wouldn’t be accurate. I stabbed myself in the upper portion of my left thigh which resulted in the impalement of my femoral artery. If I had also mutilated my genitals then I would not have survived… nor do I think I would have wanted to.

Thank you for the kind words and if I ever start practicing a martial art again, I’ll remember the community here; however I must return to my corner of the internet. I’ll consider it a challenge completed when this thread hits my second page of results. Thank you again for your time and consideration

Well yeah but Nuts is way funnier than UpperPortionOfHisLeftThigh.

So, what data do you study, scientifically?

Ha very true about the naming, my degree is in decision science which is a complement to data science. My focus is on working with data sets that are small enough to be processed in Excel, which is most of everything that can’t be called big data. My current goal is to independently contract with small businesses that for one reason or another need to update their operations to the modern standard. To answer your question, sources of data for these companies will typically be sales and orders history, maintenance records, appointment records, employee/customer interviewing/surveying, and first hand observations just to name a potential few. If I’m lucky the recorded data is in some digital format such as being from a digital POS system but the people who would benefit from my service most are going to have back logs of paper invoices.

I see.
You do look like you might take numbers seriously.

Do you know who Mr Spock is?

What martial art taught you to pierce your nads?
Surely you were not fibbing to the coppers.

lol I really gotta get some new pictures up. Anyways, yeah I’m familiar with Mr. Spock and I do admire his logic. The sword form that most prepares you for lopping yer balls off is definitely the one you learn from watching Yojimbo(1961) and saying “Yeah, I totally got this.” The practice that the article most likely is referring to is the short time I spent learning a style of Kempo that I cannot remember the name of. Previous to that I had spent some time as a small child learning Tang Soo Do but none of this experience included the handling and operation of a live weapon. It was this incredibly stupid accident that motivated me to actually learn exactly what it was that I nearly died pretending to know. After recovering from the accident I began practicing Aikikai Aikido, Kendo, and Shorinji-Ryu Karate.

I vote TheKidWhoStabs best username of the year.

Isn’t a category?

Shit

I vote BFM to start a poll.

Very well then.

This is a great few sentences:

“It was a pretty good wound and was bleeding profusely,” Hatfield said.

Pothier’s mother, Jean Inglis, said her son remained calm throughout the incident and she was very proud of him.

Inglis credited Hutton, Hyde and Hatfield with saving her son’s life.

Not many men would remain calm in that predicament, much less with the presence of the no doubt strapping Misters Hutton, Hatfield and Hyde.

Dear Jean is well, we hope?

The only place I can think of where such a poll would be appropriate is Trollshido… and it seems polls are disabled there…

… or my ability to create polls is still blocked from my earlier adventures on the site. Which would totally be understandable, that functions was abused a time or two or ten throughout the years.

Can we get a “Stabbed himself in the junk” tag?

What do you have to offer that a decent DBA can’t handle?

Not to speak for the guy, but many DBAs don’t want to dick with data analysis. DBA means different things across organizations, but often it does not encompass data analysis.

LOL, nice.
