Actually, I probably know a little more about racism than the average bear, having taken many racism classes in college. Right now I’m taking “Roots of American Racism”. Good class.
You know, your reaction to racism reminds me alot of Germany. See, I’m very German, I’m the first American born in my moms side of the family. ALL OF MY MOTHER’S FAMILY WERE THERE. Now, they weren’t Nazis, a few of them were actually in camps at the end of the war for hiding and smuggling Jews. Just so you have alittle background on me and my knowledge of the situation.
Now… after WWI, the German economy was destroyed, what with paying reparations out the ass to the winners. So, with their economy so depressed, they were anxious for any help, economically. And out of the blue, our good friends the Jews came to town and contributed to the economy and brought in commerce, etc. At first, the Germans were thankful. But then the Jews were buying up everything, even buying their way into public office. Pretty soon, Germany would be a nation of Germans run and owned by Jews. Needless to say, the Germans were a bit perturbed.
Let it never be said that I am a fan of genocide. I am not. And neither is anyone in my family. But, the insult upon the German people was not a lot different than some idiot verbally insulting you or your family. “Oh, you poor Germans, you are so up shit creek. Too bad, I just bought your paddle, oh, and your boat, too.” So… would you “kick the shit” out of them Jews, if you were a German?
The Nazis clearly over-reacted, but the Germans didn’t stop them. They just chose their tribe over another and went along. Besides, Edward I also kicked the Jews out of his country back around 1300. Seems that the Jews have been kicked out of many countries over the centuries, including Spain and France. Don’t believe the anti-Semitic hype about it, it was mostly for economic reasons.

Actually, I totally agree with that. The Nazis did fuck up Germany, and yes, the German people were, for the most part, totally complacient. I said that in my post. However, that doesn’t negate the fact that Jews have been kicked out of many countries for their economic practices & business habits. Just historical fact, guys. It’s not me.
Well, do you know why there was anti-semitism ALREADY in Germany? All Jews in Germany suffered for the business practices they practice overall. Yes, germans may have kept business open, but when you’re making minimum wage, and a loaf of bread costs a days wages or more, who is making out there?
