If we are talking manly throws,my Georgian Grip is on point!

I hit almost all my throws from there now, both forwards and backwards.

LOL, almost missed the crash pad @ 3:47
So, Tai Otoshi.

One, Travis, I find it interesting that’s your go-to throw. Was that no-gi in
I did originally learn it in MMA, from a whizzer+wrist control. Apparently Karo taught it at a lot of seminars, I’ve had 2 different teachers say they got it that way.

Thank you for all the options on throws, once I’m done working up north I’ll start drilling!
Stuff like this:
I like this a lot, thank you. I’ve already printed it and added to my book of knowledge.
People overthink too much.

For Travis:
X-Pass to KOB to, depending of partner’s reaction, near side armbar - Darce - N/S Guillotine.
What would you say are your keys to finishing the darce in that, or any, position?
What ? I thought it was in how mightily you haul on the collar…
Also wondering how to finish these on the fuckers who refuse to play. They tuck their chin, and grab their own collar on each side. I mean, I can be mean and make them let go, but is their a key to making the choke work regardless?

I’m also hoping to compete again soon, maybe Pan Ams

You want some girl on girl action dig into your own collection…

I saw a guy get knocked out silly-cold by Kouchi Makikomi at the last tournament I was at (the Pacific International).

I can recall knocking two guys out with it myself.

But seriously, Osoto Gari is the primary head-bouncer…

Watch highlights from Paris and Dusseldorf of this year (Judo). The Georgian Grip and associated throws is making a big come-back due to the new rules on gripping.

You were asking about how to chain submissions. Rethink and you might answer your own question in a different way than you are considering. If you leave collar chokes out, you are omitting a possibility from the chain.

Don’t forget sweeps/reversals as part of the chain of action-reaction. I often start off going for a simple collar choke from open guard from a two-on-one/armdrag entry, and end up sweeping while they defend the choke. Especially if i really lock it in and act like I have a one-track-mind for the choke.

The human mind tends to focus in very tightly on a specific task, and then misses other opportunities because of that. Focus narrows and narrows on say, choking the guy with a collar choke, and you miss the opening created by his defense.

For me, the most important element is chest positioning like Keenan does here (2:13 to 2:40)

Also taking a deep breath, filling the chest with air, helps a lot.

Well, I think this was a very nice gift for Professor Rayce to post in response to the original poster.

However, who else thinks that Rayce seems like a normal, nice guy in these videos.

It’s just kind of strange…

I imagined he had deeper voice, other than that, no surprises.
I imagined he had deeper voice, other than that, no surprises.
I wasn’t sure if that was his voice at first,
it sounded like there was some distortion
or was he deliberately being falsetto.
But, I think that is his actual voice.
Still, it was very nice that he made and posted the videos.
Pretty cool.

Indeed pretty cool. I really appreciate the effort on my behalf.

I try not to bring out my big boy voice too much. It scares the white belts. :-p
