Bar 20 crowd controller Eddie Attal said he could not believe he was the same man portrayed in a confronting series of photos in the Herald Sun.
Mr Attal denied the photos show him assaulting a man outside the King St strip joint.

“It looks like I’m kicking him. I’m trying to regain my balance,” he said.

"I was very devastated and very upset. I’m not that person. I’m a family man with three kids.

“It looks bad. It’s a shot that captures the whole thug issue. There’s not much I can say.”

Mr Attal claimed he and another security guard were subjected to severe provocation by three drunken men during seven simmering minutes in front of Bar 20.
He said he was spat on and racially abused by one of the men.

"He said, ‘You look like a wog. How does a wog work on the front door of Bar 20?’ " Mr Attal said.

He was fired by Bar 20 and could face serious charges, but said he did not know what he would do for work after 11 years as a crowd controller.

“My reputation’s been tarnished,” Mr Attal said.

He said the violence erupted after he ran to help some men who were being attacked by the group he had clashed with.

A friend of the three men attacked by bouncers said they had been drinking, but denied allegations they had tried to pull a person out of a car near the entrance to Bar 20.

“They didn’t pull anyone out of a car and assault them,” the friend said. "That bouncer is out of control.

"His (my friend’s) hair is ripped out like it was done with a drill. It’s from the boot scraping on his head.

"One (victim) had his hands in his pockets when he was pushed (by the bouncer).

The friend said security footage of King St cleared his three friends of any wrongdoing.

“They (the bouncers) just did it,” he said.

He said one of his friends went to hospital for a CAT scan yesterday.

The photographs show one club patron curled up on the ground near the entrance of Bar 20, trying to protect himself as a bouncer kicks him.
Behind him another bouncer is punching a second man, also lying on the ground.

A witness, calling himself John told 3AW radio the bouncer stuck the patron up to 20 times during what he described as a “relentless” attack outside the bar on King St around 4.30am yesterday.
“10, 15, 20 punches, more than one kick while they were down.”

Man this whole bouncer issue is getting out of control here in Aus.

Here on the gold coast a couple weeks ago a guy died after a scuffle with bouncers at Fisherman’s wharf.

Through my old gym I know quite a few bouncers, and have trained with plenty of them. There’s a lot of them who are cool as hell, but some of them, unfortunately , are assholes.

Regardless of whether he was provoked or not, that image certainly does not look like to me his balance was shifting back due to a fall. It looks like his upper body is moving back in counterbalance to him throwing a kick.

There should be video footage of this. Here on the GC there are plenty of Cameras on the strip in Surfers. Although having said that the bouncers know where the black spots are. They used to joke about it.

Well the first picture that got plastered accross the front pages may be questionable, but the following pictures in the gallery link put doubt on the bouncers version of the story.

That looks like a pretty clear kick. You can’t see the bouncer’s whole body, but his face says that he’s tensing muscles and exerting energy, not wildly flailing to regain his balance.

Ooops, sorry mate my hand slipped!

Kidney shot FTW. D’oh!

HAY HE JUST DOIN IZ JOB GUYZ HE NICE GUY RELLY!

That asshole deserved it.

He’s utterly full of shit if he claims that that picture wasn’t of a kick. How stupid does he think we are?

That bouncer needs to get his ass kicked silly so that he knows what’s like.
