Kempo Jiu Jitsu

Whats your take on KJJ? I rolled with a couple of guys and they where pretty good. They liked to hold you down in your half guard sometimes.
The instructor was really good at doing that. (like Lesnar vs Mir 2)
I found that KJJ is about the same as BJJ, with little difference in goal.
Anyone else had any experience in KJJ? Discuss it.

Why don’t you discuss it? Its your thread. If I want to discuss something, I will, not because you told me to.

Any links? Any anything besides a noob comparison between BJJ? Come on dude, you ain’t new here anymore.

Never heard specificly of KJJ. Is this an old system or just someone trying to rebrand their martial art into something more popular? Does Jeff Speakman have something to do with this? I ask because the last time I spoke with him he had mentioned something about doing a Kenpo grappling DVD.

It sounds like a Kempo instructor went out and learned BJJ to keep his school competitive in the market. Usually when you hear Kempo + Jiu Jitsu it refers to a Japanese Jiu Jitsu influence, not BJJ.

Not saying its not a good thing to learn, having not seen it (do you have any video links we can look at from your school?) but it would be good to name you instructor, both his Kempo and Jiu Jitsu lineage and where all this is going down. And a web site if possible.

Make with the links so I can bash your art from an educated standpoint.

Save yourself the trouble and go read his post history.

I wish this thread had been in Sheerdog 20 minutes ago

Dear God! The man’s a moron!

I have found a Kempo Jiu-Jitsu practitioner:

Let’s see him in action!!!

That’s gotta hurt Bob!

There you have it kids! Proof that KJJ works against BJJ: just play possum.

I think they have this at the Villari Studio of Self Defense down the street from me. Of course, they have specialized in the 4 phases of combat for 20 years

Of course, goes without saying.

But… There are five stages of combat.

Perhaps, but that is only revealed once you’ve spent ten years in his style. The secrets are too deadly to be given out freely to just anyone.

I used to go to the villari schools when I was a kid. No good.
