Kel-Tec PF-9 Review

I put another 100+ rounds through mine, today. You definitely get used to the trigger reset. No failures of any kind. I’m loving it more.

Wait 1900 more and let us know !

I prefer the P11 to the Pf9, but both are tanks in every right. Last time I was this happy with something I paid less than 300 for, it came with fake tits and room service.

In a way, I’m thinking the XDS is taking ques from it. Not sure why, but it reminds me heavily of the PF-9

I’m genuinely curious. Those of you claiming that the P11 and PF9s are tanks, how many rounds have you fired them? Because my P11 would go through ejectors every thousand rounds or two, which I find absolutely unacceptable. I was even told that was normal.

I bought a PF-9 earlier in the year and it had FTX problems but Kel-Tec sent me a new extractor and no worries since. I put the clip on it and it hides anywhere and is secure. I only have about 300 rounds through it (the first 50 I couldn’t get through a mag without a FTX or two). I like it, I dont mind the recoil or trigger but it will only make it to the range 2-3 times a year. I would recommend this gun to someone who can handle a snappy pistol and needs something very concealable. It is my go everywhere gun.

I would also find a defect like that unacceptable.

Update, here. I probably have a solid 2,000 rounds through this gun, now, all still original parts. I am considering trading it for a Glock 43, though. The Glock is a bit bulkier, but way nicer to shoot. Plus, I’m now in an open carry state (and I no longer carry large amounts of cash), so my needs have changed a bit.

If you are going to carry open, why not go with a Glock 19? At 6 rounds, the G 43 has less rounds available than my SW Shield with either the 8 or 7 round mags.

Only because it gives me the better option for CC if I’m out to dinner or abroad or similar. Same gun, better to train same gun for all scenarios.

(edit) also, because Texas, I can “print” when carrying concealed; in Florida that wasn’t an option, and especially with the heat… made it uncomfortable.

I see, your arcane gun laws suck.

In my wonderful state, you can just carry. Of course, there are some restriction, like, not into a public school, et al.

Was like that when I was younger, because people weren’t scared of guns, yet. It was technically illegal, though. So, progress. But, I think we have more hunters than Idaho has people, so of course there’s going to be stupidity to get past. I don’t think we have more people than you have potatoes, though.

Wow, had to pause and think about that. From the “well armed militia,” perspective, that’s pretty humbling. And, that’s just Texas.

I’ve posted earlier that Washington was the top potato producing state, looks like I was wrong.

Hmm, 13 billion pounds of potatoes a year, 322,000 acres under production.
Does Idaho produce anything other than russets?
Q:
I know Idaho grows a lot of russet potatoes, but I’ve seen the Grown in Idaho seal on reds, yellows, and even fingerling potatoes. Are these potatoes really from Idaho? How many yellow potatoes are grown annually in Idaho?

A:
Yes! These potatoes really are from Idaho. We grow about 13 billion pounds of potatoes each year, and while most of them are Russet Norkotah or Burbank varieties, about 4-5% of our annual production is non-brown spuds. According to the USDA, Idaho shipped over 60 million pounds of yellow-type potatoes in 2012. That’s a whole lot of non-russets! Try out any of our delicious varieties the next time you go to the grocery store—and always look for the Grown in Idaho seal!
A chance to break out my favorite firearm ad, ever…

With a good holster you can conceal a G19 without printing.

I’m 5’7 and about 150ish. It can be done.

You also live in SeaTac area. I was in South Florida for nearly 2 decades, and now in Central Texas. You realize that I had something like 47 straight days over 100 degrees this year, right? Breathing causes you to sweat tons. Trenchcoats or other large attire is not really an option.

It can be done with a t-shirt. That’s how I do it anyways. it’s even easier with a hawaiian shirt.

I can’t. Because if I cough, I print. If I laugh, I print. If I lift an arm, I print. If I tie my shoes, I print. Belly band below the waist was always my best option (basically Mexican carry with assist), but still shows in many situations, you have to be careful of that. I’m lucky that I don’t have that restriction, anymore, so not even sure why we’re arguing this.

Because I’m a propagandist for the double stack gang probably. Appendix carry is the secret. I’m looking at going Gucci and running a red dot on my EDC in the future.

I could see maybe running something like a 26 with one of those 33-round mags in a cargo pouch. I’m not anti-double stack (or 1.5 stack), but single stack for concealment is the bomb, at least for me.
