In your opinion, how important is kata for real word prepatorial fighting…I say fuck the kata and focus on sparring and striking…Whats your honest opinion?..Traditional karate guys won’t like me saying this, but o’well, screw them.:new_2guns
Dude, are you fucking serious? This has been addressed about a thousand times on this site.
So to summarize. Kata = worthless. Alive training = valuable.
Instead let’s discuss how much I love neg repping people when they post hackneyed beaten-to-death bullshit in an attempt to garner e-acceptance.
I wish I could hate you to death.
$5 says mommy is really pissed that Mister pDizzleRetardedNick is on the computer past his bedtime.
Ernesto Hoost only does kata. 'nuff said.
Kata vs other
If you have people to train with then spar and hit the pads. If you dont have anyone around then by all means Kata. Boxers shadow box.
Kris Wilder beleives kata is one of the most important factors of training.
Anyone claiming to be a brawler ASKING THE INTERNET if it’s ok to disregard Kata doesn’t sound like they’ve been hit enough in the head.

Well maybe, but i don’t have all fucking day to screw around on the internet…As i probably train more than you do…So,why don’t you go fuck yourself you little bitch…
I wasn’t asking if it was okay, just wanted others honest opinions. As i know there R alot of other karateka on this site who may have had to deal with this issue.Time is precious, and i’m currently prioritizing my training schedule…I’m a shotokan/brawler,so yeah your right.I havent been hit enuf in the head thanks to my shotokan striking skiLLs…So don’t get gangsta on me in this bitch, cuz i don’t think your ass wants a roundhouse kick to the face while i’m wearing these babies.(american flag mc hammer pants)…And perhaps i may even bend you over:spanky:<-------LIke that.
You’re easily one of the biggest fucking douche bags I’ve seen on this site, and I’ve seen Happeh.
Other breaking news , pope found to follow catholic faith , bears prefer to defecate in woodland areas , sport at eleven.
A real answer to your ?
I know many martial artist who only do the “hard stuff” like sparring and hitting bags and so forth. It all adds up and eventually at some point they get injured or fatigued. Ive found Kata or forms to be beneficial in the sense that I still get to focus on my techniques but my breath control improves and helps circulation in areas that may be fatigued. The result, I have more energy to do hard stuff. Yin and Yang is the way to go. Most people only do yin and most people only do yang but to do both will have long term benefits to your training. FYI dont ask for advice from people in bullshido, most of these guys are douchebags, but there are a few good ones.
You for example.
Another word for the OP:
First of all, pLackR.brizzL, I hope you are hit by a rusty train, repeatedly. Secondly, to everyone who has replied to this waste of DNA, how stupid must you be to compose a serious response to such an obviously bad troll job.
Because I’d rather go fuck a woman. Much like training, fucking is better with a partner. I guess you wouldn’t understand.
Go do 100 Kanku Dai. You’d definitely be “training” more than me then.
Do kata because…you breathe and your blood circulates?
I’m pretty that’s true of everything I’ve ever done.
When you do kata properly your breathing does much more and penetrates your blood more deeply. There are parts of your body that won’t ever get good chi circulation if you don’t do kata.
