Some local karate students found out Thursday night that this is a taxing time for accountants.
35 students were taking a lesson at the Mountain Empire Kempo Karate Studio on the Volunteer Parkway in Bristol, when the accountants next door at the H&R Block called police to say they were disturbing the peace.
The owner of the studio says that although the accountants are only there for part of the year, this is the fifth call he’s received in three and a half years.
“I keep trying to explain to them that we’re a karate school, we can’t be quiet, we’re not a library,” says Shihan Chris Massie.
Massie tells us that the police told him not to change the way he conducted his class.
H&R Block didn’t talk with us.
