Iron Buddha

I wonder if we have anyone here versed in Iron Buddha/Lohan/Arhat?

This is a very confusing subject however. There are at least 2 (completely) different Buddha styles. One of those styles may be a very old Chinese style. I am thinking about “Teet Lohan” and “Fut Gar” (But I’m guessing). I am familiar with the teet lohan.

Some of my impressions with teet lohan are that it is power oriented and long range.

There is a unique punch used that involves both hands. One hand in a fist the other hand’s fingers are placed on the fist’s wrist. The punch is designed to blast through offenses and defenses (upper gate), and penetrate the target. This is one of those techniques that requires sufficient strenght to make work, IMO.

Iron buddha also has quite a few interesting and beneficial conditioning exercises.

Anybody want to comment on this obscure style?

Check out emptyflower.com might have some luck there.

I am IRONBUDDHA!

I knew it would only be a matter of time before you showed up. So… have any Iron Buddha training?

Nope. Sorry. I practice Baji, Mei Hua Mantis and San Da. Never heard of Iron Buddha style.

I was searching around for some Iron Buddha info and I came across this site. Just thought I’d share:

Wow. If you plug “Teet Lohan” or “Iron Buddha” into google, Bullshido is first page reference. This is like a Bullshido exclusive!

Imagine that, Bullshido.net your leading provider of Kung Fu! :laughing6

I found a free excerpt for this book at:

It has some references to ‘Iron’ training of sorts, its probably worth checking out.
