That was hilarious!
Eesh. This was weird and gross to read.
You guys know why Jewish men are circumcised?
It’s because Jewish women can’t resist anything that’s 10% off.

I’m grossed out, never heard of briss before.
Michael - stop throwing up ‘authoritah ‘ (Ministry of Health ) and then cries of anti-Semitism as a defence. There is nothing anti-Semitic about questioning religious practices and challenging them within our modern understanding.
I’m disgusted.

What disgusts you ? Circumcision? Or the ancient practice Gonzo brought up of the circum-ciser sucking the blood off of the infants wound with his mouth ?
You realize Gonzo was trolling bigly, don’t you, and that he has needled Michael before ?

To be clear, most Jewish brisses do not involve any adult putting their mouth on a baby’s penis,
just as most Catholic Priests do not molest children.
The group within the Jewish community that still have their kids undergo this kind of mouth on baby penis briss
is a small part of the much larger Jewish community,
and they are the minority extremists, not the mainstream Jewish community.
Many Jews think that the mouth on the baby penis briss has no place in modern Judaism.
The problem comes in when confused members of any religion think that any and all behaviors
done by outlier members of the clergy calling themselves members of the religion
must be defended in order to be “loyal”.

The late commentary is kind of unfortunate.
Michael could of used the chance to lick his (own) wounds
before feeling compelled to come back on
to keep beating a horse that was dead
as soon as he verified that he has performed the procedure,
putting his mouth on baby penises as a member of the clergy,
and that he has defended the continued practice clergy putting their mouths on baby penises
instead of advocating for the more modern, more medically appropriate, more “no adult mouth on a child’s penis” procedure.
I vomited in my mouth a bit…

Maybe we can talk a bit about the child mutilation aspect, instead.

There was a group of people standing on the side of the road one day. All of them were wearing white shirts and white pants. And they had red crotches. I was like, what kind of bullshit is this. Then I saw there were guys and girls mixed in the group and holding up signs. I couldn’t figure out what was going on until someone at work told me they were protesting against circumcision.
I’m just glad that everyone can find a cause to protest.

Female circumcision is a controversial mutilation practice that is another example of people using god or gods as a scapegoat justification for why they do stupid, harmful, things to children.

Wife and I are not religious, so when it came time to decide for our son, there were really only 2 factors in play:
- Aesthetics
- Manipulation without consent, which may later lead to resentment on his part
Those are kind of tied together. If he decides later in life that he wants it, he can go get his own procedure.
Now, as I understand it, there’s also a big campaign in Africa to get the dick chopped, because foreskin combined with lack of hygiene is also a big contributing factor to STD transmission, specifically HIV/AIDS.

Yep. Everyone who has boys has to make a decision.
