Like most human beings, I have a grand total of two pinkie toes. Unlike most human beings, I have broken my two pinkie toes a combined total of five times. I have long skinny toes. It sucks. Standup grappling is the usual culprit for me.
I hate wearing wrestling shoes because I’m always careful not to track dirt on the mat, and it’s a pain to take them off every time I leave the mat. I tape them when they’re injured, but when they’re not injured I just leave them dangling out there to be broken again. I just feel like a retard if I tape the hell out of both feet every time I train if I’m not hurt.
It’s just a pain, all around. Usually when they break, I just straighten them and buddy tape them for a while. But I did break one so bad once I went to the doctor and had them straighten it out. I was scared it wouldn’t heal right and it would cause me pain when I ran. But the worst part about broken toes is that it’s just a nuisance and it puts a damper on training, running, etc. Anyway, I feel your pain.
This is like… my MA life. I tape the broken toe(s) for a couple weeks, then figure, “Ah, fuck it, it’s fine and taping them up is a pain in the ass,” and before you know it I’m taping up a broken toe.
