I just can't help myself..

I have taken several seminars with Walt, and my guess is that if Walt claims to have a certain credential then it is as good as gold. I do not say that lightly. I would also like to point out that although everyone’s intentions here may be honorable that does not bequeath this forum with any particular moral authority. Just because someone calls Walt out on the internet (or anyone else for that matter) does not mean that he is obligated to respond. If you feel that clarifying Walt’s lineage and titles is of such vital importance to the martial arts community, then you should take Walt up on his offer to meet with you. I am sure that he will be happy clarify his lineage and titles in a friendly and respectful manner.

I shouldn’t have to travel to meet the guy to get his damn lineage. Anyone with rank worth caring about is able to rattle off their lineage in less than two minutes with footnotes.

The consensus, as I’m sure you failed to notice, is that he is most likely a competent martial artist who makes overpriced, McDojo marketed garbage DVDs and gets himself plastered all over every mail-order black belt he can find or make up. If that sounds good to you, fine.
A few years ago people were saying that Blauer just coppied the jeet kune do concept. Now people claim Blauer copied Ryan. Maybe Blauer just came up with the stuff without going to anyone’s seminar. His sight talks about research but there are never any referenses. If Blauer were smart he would post references so we could see where he developed his “research”. He says it’s all psycho;ogy but who are the psychologists he is quoting. By leaving out any reference he invites people to question his program.
I do have something new to contribute to this thread before anyone lops off my head for reviving a thread that is ten years old. (At least, the info is new to me.)

Apparently, there is a stronger Tony Blauer-Jeet Kune Do connection than previously thought. According to this thread, Tony was a student at the Inosanto Academy for one year. You can read about it here:

http://hockscombatforum.com/index.php?topic=7826.0

The info about his time at the academy comes up on page three but the entire thread is worth reading. It seems to be common knowledge to many of the old-timers that Tony was Dan’s student, but it wasn’t to me until I read this thread. I just think it’s interesting that Blauer never talks about his time at the Inosanto Academy. I wonder why Blauer never acknowledges Dan as an influence?

You’re responding to someone who hasn’t visited this site in two years.

No. You’re not contributing anything significant enough to justify pulling a TEN YEAR OLD THREAD out of retirement.

Dumbass.

It isn’t something sourced and isn’t relevant.

Culled from a TEN year old necro.

I didn’t even read his earlier post. This must of occurred before I had access to MABS.

His other 7 posts are of the same shit basically.
