I iz Karate’s #1 nutrider!

That’s not really an advanced striking discussion, is it?

maybe you should watch da fight. besides when the last time you heard of a non wrestler knocking out an all american wrestler while not being taken down once. don’t blink. you could learn a thing or two…

here is more for you to learn from. dissect those techniques.

Well, what is it exactly that you’re trying to discuss?

Interesting. But Advanced Striking is not the place for this shit. It should be moved to the nutriding forum.

first his use of a wide stance to avoid the takedown. his movement and speed. and finally the counter he used to get the KO.

the cross counter has no place in this advanced striking forum?

Well. He was faster than a telegraphed, sloppily thrown hook that wasn’t set up in any way.

upkick,

You have been reported to the powers that be.

You contribute nothing.

That is all.

can you really call his style pure Karate? is it his only striking regime? or maybe you have some kickboxing/MT in it? besides i really don’t think the style is what gives him victories, its more his speed, power, timing etc. and maybe the fact he isn’t an orthodox fighter.

well it s the hook that catches 90 percent of mma guys. he does some sticky hands aswell wing chung style

How is his speed something you want to discuss? What do you think is special about a (his) wider stance to avoid takedowns that merits a discussion?

Alright, I’ll just back out of this slowly…

This is actually not a good example of a great striker, above you can see machida’s chin is way way too high, a good counter would have knocked his Adam’s apple in. The bottom pic shows a bad hook, that is not countered and poorly blocked with both hands, which means there is no set up and no capitalization on a wiled hook.

Machida’s not a wrestler? Guess that means he has no grappling experience whatsoever.

Frankly, you could not pick a worse horse for the “karate wins all” nutriding.

he’s a black belt in bjj. being able to stay off your back ist a hallmark of its style is it?
