I can't get it through my head that ninjeritsu sucks...

ninjutsu is the art for me! hi!:toothy6:

Welcome to Bullshido, the best Martial Arts forum on the entire Internet, shadow-warrior. Seriously, you won’t regret your choice to join us. We’re a great bunch of folks, except for Hannibal. And Sirc. And TaiGip. And MMA Kid. And… well, you get the point.

What is about Ninjutsu that appeals to you?
Also, what branch are you doing? Bujinkan? Toshindo? Other?

ugh i regret saying this but i only study it in books primarily beacuse there are no dojos here in New york.

Here’s some word of advice - remove “ninjutsu” from your style field. Not to sound like an ass, but the style field is reserved for arts you’re currently training in or have had trained in.

What part of New York do you hail from? And what’s your experience with Hung Gar?

ok and im from buffalo and i study under sifu norman mandarino. i’ve gotten up to 8 step boxing and preliminaries.

Is this your school’s website?

What’s wrong with simply learning Hung Gar? Why do you wish to pursue training in Ninjutsu?

yes thats the site and because ninjutsu seems very versiltile and conforming. Also the fighting techniques are very clever. i.e metsubishi, branching attacks, stealth etc.

What use do you have with skills such as stealth?

a time could come when somebody breaks into my house and neutralizing him would be aided with stealth. Also it trains leg strength also.

That’s what a baseball bat is for.

hah good point. but so many different scenarios can pop up. your in the bathroom copping a squat you hear a noise and as you go to investigate you take talcum powder in your hand and sneak up to the assailant, strike and as he turns blind him teporailrly and disarm him. Its a debateable art.

What if there’s more than one? Both of which are armed? What if one was at one end of the house and you’re busy making noise dealing with the one closest to you? What if there’s a whole group of them?

what if there isn’t? =] plus thats what a phone is for

I still don’t see what’s wrong with Hung Gar.

But if you’re looking for more self defense orientated Martial Arts, you might want to look into Brazilian Jujitsu or Judo or even Boxing.

tai chi? bagua?

I’m sure there are Tai Chi or Bagua schools that focus on self defense, but you’re better off with something like Brazilian Jujitsu for the time being.

alright thanks for your input.

No problem.

Seriously think about taking something like Judo or Brazilian Jujitsu or Boxing. You’ll be much better off in the self defense department if you train in them.

ok ha im getting ripped in that ninjutsu forum. Everyone hates ninja! lol
