Premieres Wednesday March 9 at 10.25pm

Fight School is an ambitious and dynamic new series filmed entirely on location in China. It takes ten amateur martial artists from the West - five men and five women - to an ancient martial arts school to compete in gruelling mental and physical combat for the honour of being crowned the ultimate champion. The combatants face a punishing schedule of challenges and must live the true martial arts philosophy - a system of punishing training, living a respectful life in the ancient Chinese way and testing their abilities to the limit.

In a fascinating twist, the strongest then has to nominate who the weakest will fight to avoid elimination - it can be anyone, including him or herself, for any reason…to weaken or eliminate an enemy, to help a friend, even just for personal revenge. Building to a climax, the final show pits the three remaining competitors against each other in yet more ordeals for two to qualify for the Final Fight.

In the premiere episode: we’re introduced to the school and characters - and the harsh regime. Immediately, pupil Susan struggles for survival. Paul has to conquer his fear of heights. And everyone has to eat duck’s heads. There’s drama as the Grand Master makes his Walk of Judgement and the fight approaches. And the shocking result ends in tears.

…then the winner is pitted against a 6-month BJJ white belt and ripped in half.

Permit me to be the first BJJer to jump on the bandwagon.

I would genuinely like to do this. Who in the world would I contact to get in next season?

Looks like just another reality tv show… should be interesting though… gonna get my brother to tape it for me and then send it to me in the UK… be good if they actually get taught real MA and then have to really spar…

Wasn’t this on uk tv last year? Some of the physical training tasks they had to perform where good but the fights at the end where pretty poor. It was light contact sparring with full protective gear and regular stoppage if someone struck a little too hard and no low kicks.

Oh yes, and the master is of course a ?ing ??un grand master.

If it was I missed it…
