A Hong Kong airline is making all its cabin crew take kung fu lessons to help them to deal with drunk and unruly passengers.
Hong Kong Airlines said all staff had been invited to undergo training in wing chun – a form of kung fu used in close-range combat – but it was only compulsory for cabin crew, the Sunday Morning Post reported.
The airline had around three incidents involving disruptive passengers every week, said Eva Chan, the carrier’s deputy general manager of corporate communication.
Two weeks ago a crew member had to put her martial arts training into practice on a flight from Beijing to Hong Kong.
You have to keep in mind, that in the world of Chinese martial arts, you can do a lot worse than the Chun. Imagine if they had made it compulsory plum flower boxing lessons instead:

I can just imagine flight attendants doing that in a plane

Setting aside whether one thinks Wing Chun is an effective striking art,
training your staff to strike passangers when confronted seems like a bad idea. Maybe some form of grappling would be the way to go?
What does the forum think? What’s the best martial art for pretty young flight attentants?
Check out the attached video showing their training
They should definitely be taught grappling. I promise that if I’m flying Hong Kong Airlines and I know the flight attendants have had the mandatory 1 hour grappling class that I won’t be unruly. I swear I won’t. Really.
The first and only thing that came to mind when I read the thread title was some Pei Mei looking guy plucking out some loud, fat, unruly passenger’s eyeball, to the tune of the ATA “you’re on vacation” jingle.

Grappling with cute air stewardess? Get in the queue.
