when i first started training my goals were:

  1. to not get choked out.
  2. to not depend solely on my strength for escapes (i can power out of positions but i learned that that’s not the most energy efficient way of escaping pretty early in my training)
  3. keep my ego in check.

so I’ve been fairly successful with these 3 so far
