i had this happen to me once. we went 4 minutes with nothing happening except me playing eskimo shin kick.
we broke apart, reset, he did the same arch and foot spread, and i got mid-evil on his ass. i reached over his back, grabbed his belt, jerked him up, and pulled him forward while i dove face first into the mat myself (going in the same direction he was going.
he had mat burn from his forehead to his chin. from my gi and the tatami mats.
the butthole went off to “get water” (really he was pouting for 20 minutes) and i got a partner that would actually do something.
I would like to know who this is so I can avoid them at the KJC when I get there, or was this somewhere else?
Shit! When I first started judo, this was a nightmare and I did it myself, I think 99.9% starting judo have. Unless your name is Mark Tripp! Anyways, I learned a few things from my sensi, one is to break the grip like Mark said. I found that if you yank him hard down, he’ll naturally stand up and as he is standing up hit him with an seoi nage or just throw him with anything really. Sumi-gaesi works so well when he is bent over. Or my favorite… Slap him in the face and tell him he’s going nowhere in judo like that. I shouldn’t be giving advice, any BB want to verify what I said? BKR, Kenikim, Mtripp?
One of the brown belts I’ve trained with is also a Tae Kwon Do BB and laugh if you need to guys…But some of the hard hand strikes from it in a match will throw people off ie; the hand fighting with a bit of force towards a lapel. You know hitting as hard as possible within the rules to get a grip can and will help. Obviously if some of the guys here say that’s dumb maybe it is, but it’s worked for me in randori.
i swear to god that i didn’t laugh, brb, need to clear my throat, okay i’m back.
man, why is shit like this okay to say and my shit always gets trollshido’s?
you are being a penis to your partners if you are doing that. if you did that to me, i’ll kick you as hard as possible within the rules on your shins, repeatedly.
i always didn’t mind when people stiff armed me during practice. it was just practice for my next tournament.
If your post is here, then you fucked up. Stay on topic people.

Because sometimes it takes me a day to go through all the posts made in the technique fora.
Well, fair enough. I did ask for others to verify what I said as I wasn’t completely sure that if it was the best method. I meant to say I am not perpetuating myself as an expert at all.
