What was the first non-Gracie BJJ school in Brazil? How did that development come about?
I’d say it’s fairly easy to go back through their lineage (one thing I really respect about BJJ), do a bit of digging on BJJ.org.
There was something I read a while back about Maeda teaching Luiz Franca Filho directly, even though bjj.org listed him (retrospectively?) as being a student of Carlos Sr.
