The documentary film “Farang Ba: Crazy White Foreigner”, which was the subject of numerous postings last year, is now available on Netflix.
For anyone who doesn’t know about the film, there was a long thread about it – use the search feature to find it, or you can go to www.crazywhiteforeigner.com for more details.
I was in Cambodia this weekend and had a chance to spar with Eh Phutong – perhaps I should say the legendary Eh Phutong, the greatest fighter in Cambodia, who is a household name in that country.
As you know, I cannot fight muay Thai, so we just boxed – but it was a thrill to be with someone of that level.
And he proved that you don’t have to be rich or well-educated to be a gentleman. I’m obviously not of his caliber, but within about 10 seconds he had figured out my style and level and made the necessary adjustments. We went 4 rounds, probably one step above my normal level – hard enough to push me, certainly hard enough to have fun – but it was a thrill and an honor. When the bell rang, each of us had a split lip, but instead of being angry or upset he was very complimentary and congratulated me!
