HIGHLAND PARK – A Highwood man was charged Thursday with molesting two children at a martial arts school in Highland Park.
Victor Mata-Martinez, 32, of the 0-99 block of Walker Avenue, is facing charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. He is being held in the Lake County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail, set by Associate Circuit Judge Victoria Martin.
In January, Mata-Martinez improperly touched a 10-year-old girl in a closet near a classroom at Airwolf Martial Arts, 474 Central Ave., authorities said. He fondled another girl, 10, while she was in a classroom, said Assistant State’s Atty. Matthew Chancey.
Mata-Martinez was an instructor at the school for about 2 years, police said.
Anyone with information about Mata-Martinez is asked to call Sgt. Bill Tellone at 847-432-7730.
