Many (most?) highly successful business people and politicians, even some scientists, etc are completely self-absorbed though.

You can see the line getting thinner as they lose more men. You can see the projection down to the temperature graph, illustrating the freezing temperatures that accelerated the horror.
You notice whose name you don’t see? Napoleon’s. Minard wanted the viewer to think about the soldiers who died, not the big name who survived.
