Hand locks on feet?

In my preying-mantis classes we’ve been doing some hand-locks as of late. like they do in aikido.

Back when I was doing in Soo Back Do we used to do alot of groundfighting, and it made me wonder: Would it be possible to modify the hand-lock for the legs. i dont mean doing a hand-lock WITH the legs, I mean doing it on the legs. I know feet are stronger than hands, which is why kickers usuelly beat boxers but locks attack joins and nerve-endings, not muscles.
