Easy summary for those who don’t feel like reading it:
Zuffa thinks Couture is lying about the UFC in various interviews and such lately, Zuffa thinks Couture has breached or is conspiring to breach his UFC contract, and Zuffa wants money + the court to stop Couture from breaching his contract.
They know how much of a money maker he is, and they don’t want a competing organization taking advantage of that while there’s anything they can do to stop it.
Why would they sue him for only 50’000 dollars? I mean if there going to waste there time sueing him, just because he doesnt want to fight for UFC anymore, then they might as well break the bank right? I mean his whole reason for wanting to resign, was because Dana couldnt sign Fedor…So I mean why not let the guy go on about his buisiness? He has done alot for the UFC, he should get paid royalties for as long as the franchise is around. I think all the great champions who help bring UFC into the main stream should get a cut of the profits. It is a bunch of BS, that is all, they know that Randy will go somwhere else, possibky M1, so he can in fact fight Fedor. UFC doesnt want to let another prompotion set that bout, because they know it is a huge payday. That and Dana doesnt want the public to think he shafts his fighters on there pay, and there contracts.
Who gives a shit- 5 years from now people will be saying “Randy who?”. I mean really, I would worry about my own $$$ before I worry about some guy, who I don’t even know, getting his $$$. Randy/Dana don’t care if you can pay your mortgage, so why should you get all concerned about them. Now, if it were a thread about a match up, that’s understandable. Really, wake up and smell the coffee- you might as well worry about Britney Spears/Lindsay Lohan/Paris Hilton while you’re at it.
I really think comparing Courture to the likes of Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton is way out of line.
Unlike those three sluts, Courture worked hard for a living. He was respectable, and he was a much better role model. Yes, we don’t know Courture personally, but we have been watching him devote his life to a sport that he loves, and he is damn good at it to. He actually has something good to offer.
On the flip side, Spears/Lohan/Hilton are horrible role models, all are spoiled brats, all are slutty whores, none of them have ever worked hard or earned their status but rather everything just falls in their lap, and all of them don’t deserve the glamour they get. If I had it my way, I would legalize assault, both sexual and physical, against them.
I think the point was we aren’t going to remember them for long after they stop doing what they are famous for doing.

Plus, as far as role models go, he dumped his wife, who just had a kid, for a stripper. I’m sure he would have dumped for any of the 3 twats I mentioned, if he could have got that high on the food chain. Now a lot of guys would say “cool”, but I’m sure his infant that he see’s once a week doesn’t feel that way. And yes, the point is, he’ll be forgotten, just like Tito Ortiz and a lot of other guys no one cares about anymore. He’s not curing cancer or reading to blind kids, and as far as a hero status, who’d he rescue, or what machine gun nest did he storm. This goes for all athelete “heroes” - he’s an entertainer.
For the record, I have met him at a few of the local fight events(sportfight,rumble at th roseland ) and he has always seemed like a decent guy. I would even venture to say, he might even be the type of guy that might even read to blind kids. A lot of people get a divorce maybe theres more to it than people see. who knows?
What the does that have to do with him as an athlete or him being remembered as one?
