I’m sitting here cleaning my bowl and just wonder what the consensus is among other pot smokers that use pipes regarding what to do with the crud.
I’ve smoked it before. I’m not sure if i’m really getting super-baked off it, if it’s just oxygen deprivation/smoke inhalation (the bad kind), or if it’s just like placebo or something.
Just to note, i’m not cleaning it because i’m hurtin and want to, i actually need to if i want to keep using the damn thing. it’s pretty clogged up.
I was debating with myself whether or not to post this here, or in CTC at sociocide. thought i’d get more responses here…but i realize now it’s not really about liquor, loot, or ladies…and it’s legality is also questionable…

resin hits ftw. sometimes a poor college student has to make the most out of the circumstances.
i used to smoke the resin, but i don’t anymore. don’t think i ever really got high off it. i toss it now.
Isn’t THC alcohol soluble? Try dissolving it in an anhydrous alcohol to see if it’s worthwhile or just shit.

Resin is the THC equivalent of tar. You guys are smoking tar.

THC is PART of the “tar”. It’s definitely got THC in it. I highly recommend adding it to your next batch of oil made with butane (fuck the alcohol unless you want to waste $).

I normally boil off the alcohol in a WELL VENTILATED space. doing that with butane seems to be courting sudden death

i was never really clear on how the butane method worked.
hell if you have the patience, you can make hash with water. since thc isn’t water soluble, you can leech it out, but it takes a really long time.

It’s the same process. You just have to make sure you don’t turn up the heat too much or…great balls of fire.

I don’t have this problem, since I usually smoke blunts. But I do like to roll blunts out of all the roaches that have accumulated in my ashtray.
Don’t you guys have any friends who do chemistry that can distill that shit for you?
I mean, they’ll have the 200 proof, they’ll have the mortar and pestle, the round bottom flask, a non-flame heating set up, as well as a rotovap to get rid of the alcohol without going to high temps.
Seriously, get some equipment.
But fuck making hash oil anyway.
And you can clean the bowl with rubbing alcohol, if you want. Soak it for a while.
Also, using butane is fucking stupid.
