Boxing/Kickboxing Defense on the Street Questions

I dont have much martial arts or street fighting experience. However, I had a few questions as it pertains to boxing/kickboxing defense moves for the street. Is boxing/kickboxing movements such as ducking, bobbing, and weaving applicable to the street? I watch MMA style fights and martial artists doing so called street fighting on videos and I dont see too much ducking, bobbing, and weaving. I have seen fighters slip jabs and crosses, do shoulder rolls, parry punches, and use great footwork to avoid punches. I have also seen many MMa fighters use head and body covers to avoid being punched. I was just wanting to get everyone’s opinion on this subject.

First, wrong forum.

Second, yes.

Third, you don’t see people doing it on the street because they suck.

Fourth, just because fighters are covered up doesn’t mean they aren’t moving their heads.

Fifth, wrong forum still.

Wait, nvm, right forum now!

you don’t see people going all anderson silva and putting their hands down and bobbing about for the simple reason… they aint anderson silva. A street fight carries high risk, you use the least risky moves you can to do the most damage. plenty of guys in mma duck and hit, plenty of guys slip punches. the fact is fighters do duck in mma they just rarely do it without shooting in or throwing a punch because well… if you’re just going to move you might as well step back and have no risk
