would be nice to see an avg
kenpo is a 3-5 year time length i read somewhere

I think for BJJ the avg time is 10 years although many achieve this a bit sooner (especially now that it is popular) - but for many, it takes longer
Kara Ho was quoted at 6 to 8 years, depending on training ethic and previous experience.
It really will vary greatly, though anything under 4 years for a 2-3 class/week school is a bit suspect.
Time varies by school and effort put in, bottom line. I’ve heard of KK schools in Japan several years ago where students practically live there and train for 8+ hours a day and compete regularly…and a shodan can be expected in 2 years or so.
In Isshinryu and in our dojo you muse be at least 18 years of age and must pass the testing of course–the sparring portion of which is pretty rough. Time wise, it generally takes around 3-5 years for most people.
Suffice it to say, I was closer to the 5 end of the spectrum
