You know what, Rudy, Actually I’ve been in your position before (kind of, in my case my opponent actually had about 5 years more experience then me), so anyways my third ever fight right. I’m coming off two absolutely dominating wins, one in kickboxing, and one in MMA. In addition to having taken 3 gold medals in BJJ comps
So The bell rings and I rush this girl and I am fuckin winging power shots left and right and man do they hurt. I actually wound up rebreaking my broken hand on this girls head (the reason she wasnt knocked out is because, like you, I was just aiming for and hitting “head” not “jaw”, the mark of an inexperienced striker)
Anyways, she gets a takedown and tries for an armbar from mount and I roll up with it into her guard. I try to get my hands free to hit her but dont manage to do so and the Ref stands us up.
Alright, so here we go again, I throw and land a headkick followed by a mighty right hook that stuns her, I drive her back with a few more punches and she flops to her back because she likes to buttscoot.
Confused at this strategy I decide to try a jumping guard pass, wind up in her guard, we struggle and the girl slaps on an armbar.
I tap…Fight over, and I am handed my first loss.
But I still feel like I took home some sort of victory, afterall, I dominated the standup with a much more experienced opponent and blah blah blah…and right after the fight there’s a thread where I am trying to make myself feel better and you can even go make fun of it if you want.
basically what I am trying to say is that eventually I accepted the fact that I lost fair and square, just like you did. Maybe one day you’ll accept that loss , or maybe you’ll keep making excuses to yourself.
If you do the former, maybe you’ll expand your game and beat Jordan, if you do the latter, then I look forward to laughing when he makes you say Matte. In the meantime, try and get over yourself a bit.
