Yeah, cause when you walk into a BJJ school (Your style field says you’ve been there) they just throw you on the mat and armbar the shit out of you full speed and full force. Cause that’s how REAL MEN learn, right?
Fuck, I find myself agreeing with a chunner, wtf is wrong with you? I’ve never seen a boxing gym where you walk in and on day one they are full force, full speed punching you in the head without working on some basics first. Jesus H christ man. There’s enough wrong with the chun without you just being a moron.
You are truly a fucking idiot.
Hey douchebag…guess what I did the first time I ever walked into a BJJ school??? I rolled at full speed (my full speed) against non-compliant (to some degree…I admit they take it easy on newbies) partners. Try it.
I’ve trained wing chun for 9 years and one of the biggest things I walked away with is the fact that the fucking drills that make up 90% of class time fly right out of the window as soon as you realize someone is trying to hurt you…unless you train like someone is trying to hurt you.
The sooner you are comfortable with punches trying to hurt you…the sooner you will be a decent fighter. I’ve seen too many cases of highly trained wing chun people totally shit the bed because they don’t know what to do once they get hit. The whole idea that a good WC person won’t get hit is implied in a lot of schools…and it is total bullshit.
I never advocated sparring 100% on your first day…but I sure as hell do advocate realistic training on your first day.
Wing Chun is supposed to get you prepared for fighting quickly. It can’t do that if you spend the first year dicking around w/ the SLT form and doing sticky hands.
In order to learn how to fight…you’ve got to fight.
This is your original post fuckwit.
Look at that sarcastic part where you advocate learning to handle a full speed punch from a non-compliant partner without mastering ANY basics.
Are you telling me that you weren’t shown ANYTHING before being mauled in your first BJJ class? Cause I remember my first class and I got to learn all of the basic positions, move in and out of them a few times, learn some basic motions like Upa and Shrimp, then we rolled for position, no subs, and with progressive resistance.
I did not walk into class, get tossed in with a blue belt and have my arms ripped off because I didn’t know WTF was going on.
So yeah, mastering “some basics” before doing something full speed seems to be the way training works. Your position is one of needless stupidity. The Chun has plenty wrong with it, but reading your post makes it sound like you advocate beating new students senseless before teaching them anything.
Guess what?
If you misunderstood his post fine. I took the whole thing as a sarcastic comment.
Not that he was advocating what you just suggested. Please don’t bring the angry stuff from that thread in here.

If this can be settled I may insert it back in the thread. If not, off to trollshido.
