Anybody know how to deal with eBay?

I bout 6 DVDs and the guy took forever to deliver on the goods. Then 2 of the 6 were defective(I think they might be knock offs) So I ask the dude for my money back. He is just being a dick about it. Then I realized I only have 45 days to file a dispute and it seems apparent that he is just wasting time to run out. So my question is, do I actually have a chance of getting my money back or is eBay issuing him a warning and giving him a bad rating all thats gonna happen?

At this point I am contemplating taking a shit in a box and mailing it to the guy.

EDIT: The guy just said if I wanted him to he would just make me some new ones. When I ask what I meant by that, he told me that he makes the DVDs himself…Son of a bitch. Did I just buy stolen property?

File the dispute. You can always apologize later if you misinterpreted how he was coming across. If he’s a recurrent seller on eBay he won’t want them to take action as it will impact his future sales. If it’s a one-off casual sale, meh, you may want to look at following your suggestion. But, if you like the dvds - why not get him to replace the two jacked ones (assuming he may have just made a bad copy)…

I just edited the post. The dude informed me that he is making these DVDs himself. When he sent them originally he said they wouldnt have cases, due to cost of shipping. I put a lot of my DVDs in a large CD case anyway so I didnt care. Now he is admitting to making them himself. So these are illegal copies.

File the dispute. If you payed with Paypal, file a dispute with them, that is your best chance of getting your money back, they will almost always side with the buyer.

I filed with paypal and because I filed it under faulty merchandise and bootleg. They closed the claim saying that they cant verify the quality for the merchandise.

How serious are you?

I had something similar happen years ago.

Not serious anymore. I reported it to the police(as I was advised to do) I filled out a report. Officer said most likely nothing will happen, especially since the dude lives outside the USA. I sent the infor to eBay and iOffer. Even mailed something to the company’s P.O. Box. I am not going to stress over $30.

I purchased the X-Men cartoon from the '90s. Its on a 6 DVD set. Funny part was when I told the dude I was reporting him. He said I wasnt a true comic book fan and that he isnt doing this for the money, he is doing this to spread joy to comic fans. After that I realized there is no reasoning with this man. So I am out $30, but the police let me keep the counterfeits and I got a funny story to tell whenever somebody brings up eBay.

True fan?

Best bet is to let it go.

Your only other option is to get others with similar problems to report him. I got a guy’s account closed (with help) down. I contacted 8-9 users with negatives and we all filed complaints.

Yeah, I left negative feedback and reported him. Encouraged other who left negative feedback to do the same. I am done with the issue. But if he e-mails me again I may humor the shit in the box idea.

would that even go through?

srsly?
