AGD forum detritus #437

both are equally important, as repitition is needed to train the muscle memory. it takes thousands of reps for something to become reflex. Also, rolling is extremely important as the only way to develop skills for a real situatuation, comp etc is with a fully resisting partner!!
Both are equally important no matter what your level!!!

The “secret” to martial arts or combat sciences is pure repetition. Drilling is monotonous and boring and you feel like you are not getting a workout but the drilling of situations and scenarios will pay dividends in the long haul. Just don’t forget to have live grappling so you know how it is to really hip toss a guy or sweep a guy with a butterfly hook.
