We’ve talked about knives, guns, ink, clothes, etc. but have we ever discussed the other things you carry around on a daily basis?
Do you have a timepiece? Is it a digital tacticool multi-function survival wrist device or do you go for a more classic wristwatch? How about sunglasses, are they the cheap disposable or more expensive name-brand stuff?
I used to buy the cheapest steel analog that I could find to fit my spindly arms and $10 crap sunglasses at Target. After busting my 3rd or 4th pair of shades and having my cheap fossil get condensation under the glass, I’ve splurged on some (hopefully) more durable stuff and have been happy so far.
I have a universal, wide-band, hand-made leather wrist strap that I can switch out various watch faces. the best part is, I can slap a $10 wal*mart timepiece in this thing, and it ends up looking like a $400 fashion piece. It has fooled millionaires.
Other accessories I carry?
Nickel-plated money clip, for all my $1 bills.
And a twin-jet flameless cigar lighter by Monte Cristo for my Polenco habit.
Old school SS TAG I bought when I got my first real job. MEC sunglasses … cheap because I keep losing the expensive ones. Black Timex Ironman and a rectangular SS K Cole watch with a borwn leather wristband my GF bought me. Not much into jewelry…

I have several “timepieces” but none of them work. So I just use my cell phone, and the position of the sun. It would be easier to use the clock on the phone, but I like the challenge of using the phone as an add-hock sundial…
Also carry my wallet, keys, a hat, and if it’s a special occasion, pants.
When going out, I may have a cigarette case or flask handy.
Anybody use stuff from Randolph Engineering before? The sunglasses I wear now are RE Aviators and I love them. I picked them up because they looked pretty durable, had a good warranty and reminded me of what my dad wore back in the day when he was in the Air Force. They also double as shooting glasses when I hit the outdoor ranges.
I have like 3 watches but I never wear them. I’m thinking about getting this guess watch but I’m not sure if it’s worth it (it’s about $90 at macy’s).
Aside from that I have 1 glennlivet flask (about 12 oz), 1 johnny walker flask (about 12 oz) and 1 smaller (10 oz) leather wrapped flask from Russia. I’ve only taken the glennlivet flask out once but the smaller russian flask has seen more use when I was in high school (math class, free period, prom, etc…).
I also almost always wear a thin gold chain. I’ve worn it since I was 14 and it’s just been so long that I feel naked with out. I’ve almost lost/broke the thing so many times due to training but I just don’t feel right without it outside of the gym.
For work, I carry a Kenneth Cole black leather softcase.
I also have a black patent leather Kangol messenger bag with a graffiti subway on it, that I can’t find for sale anymore, so I’ll need to take a pix later.
My wife got tired of me saying, “Here, hold this” about keys/wallet/phone/knife/hand gel/etc. and bought it for me a few years ago.
After having gone through enough pocket watches over the years, the cell phone gives me the time of day and date.
Flash drive, wallet, pocket knife, pen and a couple of key rings fill out the pockets. Sun glasses usually come from Academy, Target, etc as I lose them long before they wear out.
